none of those guys will come anywhere close to doing network television.

Why should they when they own their content and can do whatever they want. The only standup who became a talkshow host was Jay Leno, and he continued to be a stand-up. These guys are stand-up comedians that would also be a host.

hosting a network show would be unnecessary and a net negative to their stand-up career.

I love all of these guys and would HATE IT if any of them took that garbage job.

That’s the problem. The format sucks and nobody watches anymore. It’s honestly a relic of the 60s that has way overstayed its relevance. If I want to know what the telecommunications giants want me to think and believe, I’ll just watch cable news.

(I do like Gutfield. But it’s not exactly the same thing)

Late night network TV is dead. Give it back to the locals Tv stations to choose what they want

I have never watched a late night talk show. I had to work for a living and had to get up early in the morning.

This statement manages to be both the most millennial AND boomer thing ever said.

I’d watch old Carson reruns to be honest.

Well it would be for the better if they could return to local content rather than murderporn which is all local news is now
Not that it would get a lot of eyes but it would actually be a use of public airwaves after the 10:00 news, it could actually be community-focused. Over time, it would find a space between entertainment and financially viable

The ones that actually got maybe a local comedian that can't bust out of the local stage but was entertaining and had people from the area on the news that could probably find a sweet spot

I actually agree.
Put on people who are making things happen locally, plus a local band or performer.

Add Tim Dillon and it’s a solid list. Except for Schultz and Normand, I think this would be a balanced group. And my 2 exclusions aren’t because they suck. They’re just very left, but in a very fair way.
