You are right. I have heard many, many different southern accents. The older ladies, with their politesse, smiling hospitality, and sometimes banal chit-chat do sound like caricatures of social belles.

They use their vocal inflections to either draw one into conversation or make a point of some sort. Grandmothers and mothers do not sound like their home selves when socializing in public.

You people are paid by Soros at this point.

Now when something sucks and is bad I will just justify it with that person exaggerated and did it on purpose for comedic effect.

Does Mike White have nudes of all of you where you can't say anything bad about this show.

Her accent was one of the best parts of this season

which tells me it truly was a terrible fricking season

Every show needs to start having one character do a annoying accent that is unwatchable because that is so comedy

Do you like White Lotus better than 1923? It's hard to determine from your posts in this thread, maybe you can clear that up for everyone with more posts about it.

Right, it's comically bad. But people are trying to act like it's a good accent, which it's not. Good and funny are separate debates.

When I said "one of the best parts" I didn't mean it was an accurate accent. It was funny because it was ridiculous.

everything in society is arse backwards now so this actually makes total sense

That's like saying I got into a wreck today and it was the best day I've had all week.
We need more ridiculous movies like snow white because its funny when they mess up a classic.

Hard disagree. It wasn't as bad as Jason Isaacs, which rivals one of the worst accents in the history of television. "Na Locholan, yu cant have alcohuul, yur drinkin a coouke." but it was bad. It blew up on instagram/tik tok of her on a talk show and her saying how to do the voice with the "Buuudism, Tsuuuunami, Piiper nooo, noooo!" and people thought it was hilarious and for some reason just deemed it a good accent because it was funny. I'm sure there are a few people that sound like that, but it was not at all a fitting accent. Both of them took me out of many scenes because of it.
What was so bad about Jason Isaac's? I thought it was way understated - certainly relative to Posey's.

Scott Glenn's dealing with the situation back at the White Lotus was not the most reasonable course of action

What makes you think he’s any more reasonable than Rick? They say “The Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”

Glenn’s character is a rich and powerful man whose ego was just bruised by Rick in an embarrassing way. If I were him and saw Rick at my hotel, I’d react the same way and try to have him removed.

We’re going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

She was great but Murray Bartlett as Armond is still the best performance of the show imo

His British accent would pop in there pretty noticeably from time to time. I didn't really get hung up on either of their accents though; I thought they were both great this season.

No. He owns some of it. Instead of telling him he is his father and his hatred was a mistake, he taunted him about his mother.

That's a good point.

That part of the ending just bothered me that he didn't say anything, and the reveal was just his wife telling Rick "Oh yeah, he's your dad, he told me last night". Thought they could have fleshed this part out a little better.

Good by me, I'm just glad to discuss the season and finale outside of the Taylor Sheridan sidetrack the last few pages.

I thought both their accents were horrible at first, but then realized they were doing that Carolina twang. Reminded me of the witness testimony in the Murdaugh Trial and how rough that accent can be, and then I thought it wasn’t too bad a rendition.

Maybe Spencer should have done a North Carolina accent maybe you’d like 1923 better than season 3 of white lotus
