You have to go back to 2003 with me. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

Before that was 1997's Titanic.

The Hurt Locker would be the winner for me, but I didn't see the film until after the Oscars.

My first thought as well, but Pan's Labyrinth was also that year though. I'd have to go with Return of the King as the last one I truly agree with, although Lpst in Translation is close.

Probably The Departed and No Country for Old Men. I don't remember the years but I think the Departed won in 2007, and No Country for Old Men in 2008.

frickkkkk. i thought Pan's was a year earlier.

that's so tough. both are as close to perfect movies as you can get, for me
