Is logain the singer or the dude in the chariot cage at the end of episode 3?

Cuz these scruffy white dudes start to look alike.

Also, I'll agree that red head guy is kind of a whiney bitch. But that tells me he's the one that grows a bit as we move on.

Rewatching it now with my wife. She has not read the book. She absolutely hated Perrin's wife. I had to immediately spoil some things in the books in hopes of keeping her around for episode 2. We'll be starting that tonight.

I do think that the first episode was just poorly done. The idea of making it an ensemble show from the start is the key problem. The women's circle initiation and Nyn/Moiraine parts are just not very good.

Thom is the singer in the inn who helped Rand and Mat against the darkfriend.

Non book reader checking in after the first three.

Eh, not terrible. I like the universe and am curious as to where the story goes. I'll stick with it.

Amazon must be using this to hide profits from taxes, because there is no way this is $10 million per show. It's like network TV levels of production outside of the landscape shots. I'm cool with lower production, but I'm just baffled at where the money went. Are Ray Nagin and Mitch Landrieu producers?

Exactly.

I can't explain how big 8f a letdown show was. No explanations. Watching show with the lady and she has no idea what anything means, same questions you have. such a shite job, dune skipped a lot 9f stuff but they explained better in a 2 hours movie then then this POS tv show has explained in about 3 hours, of 1/3 of the book.

Just angry, opening scene 8.new it was some seeker low budget shite I new what the series was going to be at like 2min when that stupid low budget scene of logain and the maroon ajah not red.

TV show is just so far off of the books I can't get over it.

Perrin is not a apprentice but a master smith now? And he is married? And he killed his wife?

Matt is a thief & legit a POS? Two rivers seems scummy and opposite of a wholesome small village, with good values. (Old ways/blood)

Rand is a bitch and didn't get any training from his dad. Opening scene he throws his long bow on the ground to pick up some rocks?? Lol. The long bows are supposed to be a foot taller then the user. Rands dad is not a bad arse or leader in the community? Rand does not drag his dying father through the woods hiding from the trollocs and fade, he just tossed his dad on Bella's back and walks him into town.

This show is bad not just from not following a semblance of the story line, but it looks like it was directed by a really bad bollywood director.

People like you are why shows like Firefly get canceled. There is zero reason to have such a polar view this early on when we all know there is plenty of time to flesh out characters, much larger battles to see production value, more sophisticated destinations than a village or wilderness for sets and costumes, all coming in time.

I'm not saying it's the greatest TV show ever. I have my criticisms, but instead of having the knee-jerk, instant judgment, extreme polar reaction so many on here are having, I'm simply willing to give it time.

Very true. None of the kids have much personality at first. Develops as the books go on and they get older. And then we all like Mat the best.

Interesting. Because after the 3 episodes, I like Mat the least and Rand the most. In fact, I really dislike Mat.

This seems very book spoilerish! Get thee to the book thread. I haven't read them.

Main girls nose is super big. Red haired dude made me not want to watch show. They did forge man dirty and that was too fricked up. Thief was my favorite besides the warden dude. Pike is weird looking when she did the spells. Spells in fight seemed almost useless for a long arse time. Warden was killing trollocs way faster while she was dancing. Voldermort was cool looking. The wisdom or whatever she was is annoying as shite also. Lighting was awful and felt cheap. Gleeman was a cool dude.

LOL! I wonder if we watched the same show!?!? I loved Red haired dude (Rand) and disliked Mat (thief). I love Pike and her speels and love The Wisdom.

But then, in the beginning of the show , they just made a dude disappear?

Moraine (Pike) had a voiceover in the beginning about how men could not use the one power (magic) or it made them crazy. Aes Sedai would hunt down those men and kill them or cut them off from the one power.

The other dude didn't disappear, the guy they were chasing was crazy, imagining somebody not there, hence why the Aes Sedai were hunting him down. Moraine saw this and commented "it's not him."

GOT's first episode was pretty amazing. Particularly with the deserters encountering white walkers right out of the gate. So I have to disagree.

It was amazing in the way it looked. But I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have understood any of it if I hadn't read the books. I read the books and really wasn't completely invested until season 2.

What do people think:

Should we convert this thread to a Book Spoilers thread and then start a whole new thread that Book Readers are not allowed to comment at all?

It seems like we need a better dichotomy. Too many book readers fouling up this thread because every detail in their imagination wasn't identical.

This red headed bitch is our main character? Two episodes in he should get his nose broken so maybe he will stop pouting for awhile.

He's my favorite. Y'all are just pissed that girl lead has a big nose and for some reason I can't fathom, y'all like the a-hole friend who is a thief. He lost me when he refused to help his friend chop wood. He's been assholish the whole time. I can't see a single reason to like Mat.

Now Gleeman, I'm hoping we see a lot more of him!

So take this to the book thread. I did not need to know a single bit of this.

i think having a spoiler thread on the books board is maybe a stretch. trying my best to pay attention to wear i'm posting, but with GoT, they had separate threads, both on MTV board.
