Rewatching currently and episode 2 is just so great... the jump into Normandy, followed but the utter confusion of being lost and with other companies for a few days... finally the attack on the guns which is later described as the perfect model for attacking a fixed position and is still trained at West Pointe...

What others do you like?

Bastogne and The Breaking Point really help define the western conflict at it's worst.

On one side you have Germany fighting for a last gasp at survival from an apocalypse with anything it could muster in allied lines.

On the American side the line held by boys well past their date of combat effectiveness still being steel, eating the shite, and winning. Fighting against annihilation.

when winters relieves dyke with speirs. classic leadership on speirs part. quick decisive decisions that enabled them to move forward and complete their objective.

Just a great scene.

Day of Days is up there for sure. Getting ammo off dead friendlies hanging in the trees was brutal. Those german prisoners getting hosed. Great series that wont be topped

The one where they discover the concentration camp... may have been the most impactful of the series . Remember that vividly the first time I watched it

All this. That build up, Dike’s meltdown, and then Spiers coming in and wrecking shop followed by the conversation with Lipton in the church is all just amazing.

Breaking Point.

I say this in every BoB thread, but Spiers leaping into view through the smoke, taking charge, running through the German lines twice, followed by his speech where he explains to Lipton that he’s been the leader of Easy since Winters left... that’s the high point of the series.

ETA: Just seeing Lipton go about the day to day job of keeping the troopers focused and avoiding the chaos of having a weak commanding officer was inspiring.

Honestly, the whole thing is just one giant video novel to me. I never watch just one episode. It's always part of a marathon. Aside from the relatively slow 1st episode. they're all masterpieces.

Episode 2 probably is my favorite, though. They're just getting into it, with the whole story ahead of them.

Day of Days, Bastogne, Breaking Point, and Why We Fight are all fantastic but there is a soft spot in my heart for Points. I can't explain why but I guess I like seeing the joy on their faces when the war is over and they realize that there is life after the hell that they had all been pushed through.

Interesting that Easy Company couldn't find a Nazi anywhere in that town.

This is not really a question/idea that should be applied to this series...
