What’s a good solid film to watch with limited thought or effort

Now we’ve started Back to School meetings etc., what would be a couple movies to watch to help wind down? I’ll need it after listening to inevitable complaints I’ll hear from other staff?
I’m somewhat burned out on baseball and hockey right now already as that’s all I’ve watched in past days.

That’s the Dangerfield, Kinison, Downey,Jr, and Johnny from Karate Kid one?

Yeah Dangerfield and the dude from Christine are the main stars. Great movie.

In Bruges if you haven't seen it. Easy suggestion.

I think you're going to have to hum a few bars.
My guess is, since you didn't specify, you're looking for something that is well done, with a solid, linear narrative and you don't want a gut-wrenching turn at the end, a bunch of twists and puzzles to solve on the way or something that makes you think too, much, am I right? Either fun or serious, but not overly dramatic or suspenseful?
In that case:
COMEDIES:
Some Like it Hot
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
Young Frankenstein
Ghostbusters
WAR FILMS:
The Longest Day
Patton
A Bridge Too Far
Midway
That will get you started.

Not sure why this just came to me, but City Island is a pretty solid/entertaining flick that doesn’t require a whole lot of thought.

Was released 2 days after Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
Love FBDO, but I actually like BTS more.

That’s most certainly not a “limited thought” film
The way I read the OP, something like Eurovision seems to be more in the wheelhouse he’s looking for

"Dumb & Dumber" sounds appropriate for you lack of wanting to put out effort.
