What would have happened if Han & Chewie had killed Vader in Episode 4?

Vader was pretty helpless in space after the other TIE collision. If they had a mind to, wouldn't have taken much to run down Vader's fighter and destroy it.
Would there have been any major changes in the Rebel Alliance vs Empire? I'm trying to think of any major moments directly influenced by Vader alone.

Luke would not have become a Jedi (or maybe became palpatines student). Palpatine would wreck shite and further consolidated power unopposed.

They should have sent a cyborg back in time to kill Shmi Skywalker ten years before Episode 1.

The series ends and the non fans are spared from it?

Probably not.
Though maybe the military focuses on the Mon Calamari fleet instead of Luke and the Rebel base.
Though if Vader was dead then the Emperor would really be into finding Luke. Unless he already had a backup.
The actual loss of Tarkin was probably a bigger deal.

then we wouldn't have had the inspiration for this set...

I thought about this, but the attack on the second Death Star and its destruction happened completely independent of Luke infiltrating and defeating the Emperor.
You could argue the butterfly effect that a different fleet commander other than Vader would have had a more effective attack on Hoth and would have crushed the rebels there. Or that Luke not becoming a Jedi Master by not realizing his lineage would have changed Han's rescue and the attack on the imperial shield generator on Endor wouldn't have been successful.

Episode IV.
I don't know if the MF could outmaneuver Vader's ship. Vader could easily turn the tables on him.

Good call on the episode. I'm an idiot. If you recall Vader got clipped by his wingman and was spinning out into space. He crash landed on a nearby planet. Would have been easy pickings.

Then the Emperor would've turned Luke, he would've never had the example of his father. It would've been a darkntime for the Galaxy

Would that have happened though? Luke was lured on to the Death Star by Vader's presence. And still, the Rebel Alliance was blowing up that second Death Star either way. They didn't give a shite (or even know) Luke was still on board.

Im stoned and may be missing something, but i was talking about a new hope, had vader died in new hope.
The Emperor would've pursued Luke as his next apprentice, throughout the galaxy. Luke would've needed more strength than he had in Empire to defeat and resist the Emperor. He would have failed. Through the encounters and visual representation of Vader, Luke wouldn't have had the connection and power to resist, plus it was Vader who defeated the Emperor as well.
One of his proudest moments was proclaiming to the Emperor that he was a jedi, like his father before him. had he never known he was his father..it wouldn't have meant as much to him

Well, my next question would be how would they have known that was Vader in that ship?

Did Vader's body disappear? And did Luke just burn his armor?
Eta
Which was supposed to be fireproof

I'm confused at your response. I was talking about how would Han or anyone know that was Vader in that ship in IV.

I’m interested in the trilogy where Rey dies facefirst in the snow by Kylo’s hand.
And maybe the show where Vader decapitates Reva before she starts talking in the first episode

It's Star Wars. Not Episode IV. Not A New Hope. Just Star Wars.
