That shouldn't matter. Regardless of your job or station in life, you should take pride in doing your tasks well.
That's a common key among successful people and the fact that you don't take pride in what you do is likely a big part of the reason you currently do not have a career.

I worked at Canes for 3 years, 6 months of which were after I got into my career in accounting. I was tired as hell, but you're damn right I was still the last to leave every shift that was under my authority.

I'm perfectly happy. But I see work as something I have to do to support my family. I refuse to see it as a pleasure
I can understand that. I know there are people that work for the sole purpose of funding their pleasures in life. Nothing wrong with that.
But I also remember hearing "If you can do something you love, you'll never have to work another day in your life" Difference between getting to go to work and having to go to work I suppose.

If more people were like Hank Hill, this world would be a lot better place.

So, is it safe to say you spend a lot of time sitting around burning rope?

Hank Hill in reference to one of Bobby's 'wizardry' books always cracks me up:
"40 dollars? The family bible costs less than that, and it was written by Jesus!"

You lost me right there.
If there were more people like Hank Hill and fewer like you, the world would be a better place.

You may not be beyond redemption - I'll reserve judgment and kind of walk back my earlier comments.

I disagree that meat grilled via propane tastes better than meat grilled via charcoal. Although propane is more convenient, charcoal produces a better flavor.

ehh... I'll give him a bit of a pass.
While he can be overly judgmental of things he doesn't understand it's a small miracle that he is even willing to listen to/tolerate people he disagrees with considering his father Cotton is a bitter raging sexist/racist/bigot a-hole.

HANK: This is my new neighbor.
DALE: He's Japanese.
COTTON: No he ain't. He's Laotian. Ain't you, Mr. Kahn?
(True story - I got to riff on that line with a Laotian friend - she laughed and elbowed me in the ribs.)
