Came to post this. It’s also just a man thing I think. My wife was completely unmoved. I was blubbering like a child. I well up every time I watch it. It’s gotten worse now that I’ve lost my own dad.

Can't watch the scene in ET anymore after Halloween when ET goes missing, and Elliot finds him in the creek, all gray and practically lifeless. Chokes me up just typing it.

Frequency. When he messages his dad in the past, and dad lives. That night, he comes home to take his son out to ride a bike. I lost my dad at 11. That one hit close to home for me.

Agreed. The incredible music and images from the final assault on Wagner blast my senses, and always get me.

Also, the very end of Nights of Cabiria. When she looks directly into the camera, and smiles through her tears, I go to pieces. Fellini once said Cabiria was the only one of his characters who he still worried about, which makes it worse for some reason.
