Probably Big Lebowski, Dumb and Dumber or Billy Madison for me.

In college we would come home drunk and typically put one of those on.

Silence of the lambs, bloodsport, night of the living dead (savini remake), the lost boys, blazing saddles, the jerk, young Frankenstein and many of the Friday the 13th films.

And Jaws + a 1981 Christian rapture film called "years of the beast".

Dumb & Dumber, the first Pirates movie (I regret to say I thought Orlando Bloom was the hottest man ever at age 13), A Christmas Story, and the Disney movies of the 90s.

Weird, I read this thread title and right above is a thread about Poltergeist! That's my answer. When we got cable and HBO in the early 80's, I watched this movie every day during the summer. Both my parents worked and I just watched tv all day.
