I usually use rotten tomatoes and yahoo review any other good ones you recommend, or which you think is best

Metacritic is the one I always check first if it's a movie I haven't really been following or aware of. IMDB user reviews are also normally pretty good.

Seriously, Dave White is a pretty fun writer and he comes off as a genuine film lover and not a douche nozzle

The movie/tv board on td.com.

Pretty much everyone starts their reviews with something like "simply a fantastic film!!!" so they have to know what they are talking about

But they will probably hate you for saying movie instead of film, so GFYM in advance.

I check out rottentomatoes every day, but as far as the best critic out there, it's James Berardinelli of reelviews.net.

There is no better movie reviewer than Armond White. There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe the man, they myth, the legend that is Armond White.

His review of Transformers II changed my life and made me the man I am today. If only more people had read this review perhaps world peace would be within our grasp.

One can only hope the leaders of all nations breathe in his review of G.I. Joe II when the movie is released.

His schtick is so tired, and so obviously an act. He knows hot to get a shite ton of hits on his reviews, and milks it for all it's worth.

As an aggregator, I go with metacritic. For an individual reviewer, I tend to go with the AV Club.

For analysis, I like Ebert and O'Hehir.

For my money: James Berardinelli.

LINK

Not mainstream, but does a good, honest job.

MRQE

better than RT because any movie that's 'good' will get a fresh rating, meaning that if you get an 75% movie than that means it could be really good or just 'a handful of redeeming qualities.' but I do love the consensus summaries

metacritic is a little too reductive and minimalist in its effort to report on a movie's quality.

I like MRQE because it reveals the gradient of scores and usually collects more reviews than metacritic does. the only thing I wish it has was RTs consensus descriptions
