Mine, in no particular order:

1) The Doomsday Machine
2) The Enterprise Incident
3) The Ultimate Computer
4) Court Martial
5) A Piece of the Action

This is not counting the obligatory Mirror, Mirror; Trouble with Tribbles; and Space Seed.

Very good episode. Especially since this came out during a time when WWII was still a recent event.

Courtmartial

You're speaking my language. Court Martial shows some of the best Shatner performances as Kirk on the series. He made this episode.

This one is very good too. Sarek is a very interesting character. And I fricking love the Andorians.

Seinfeld and Matthew Broderick were discussing the original The Producers on Com/Cars/Coffee. How the time between WWII and that film was similar to 9-11 and today. And how receptive the public was in the 60's and how a 9-11 comedy would get burned at the stake by today's audiences. Imagine a current Hogan's Heroes set in an Al Qaeda hostage camp.

But Star Trek was, "In the future some well intending Earthling will build a Nazi regime on an alien planet and one of our crew will see the logic in choosing the Nazi model." And audiences said, "Awesome! Nazis!"

Errand Of Mercy
Journey To Babel
Amok Time
I, Mudd
Assignment Earth*

*This last episode was supposed to be a pilot for a spinoff featuring Robert Lansing and Terri Garr. Still think a reboot of that show, still set in 1968, would be a great series.
