Whenever I recommend the Killing to people I always tell them to power through the first 2 episodes and it should pick up. But the beginning of that series is depressing as hell.

The whole season of SO has been meh to me. The Sinner season 1 was way better than what SO has been. The Killing series is quite good.

I definitely wouldn't call it a detective show either. There's a sheriff and a detective and there has shown like zero detective work being done.
