Not sure if I’ve seen a thread on this so far. Anybody planning on watching it? It looks ridiculous, but I’ll probably check it out this weekend.

quote:

Following the death of his father (Josh Brolin), Jay Gardiner (Austin Abrams) goes diving off the central Coast of California in search of his remains, but is swallowed by a massive sperm whale. While trapped inside its belly with only one hour of oxygen left, Jay comes to realize that the hard-earned lessons his father imparted may be the key to his escape.

Im watching. The premise is pretty absurd for a realism type movie. Its refreshing.

Read the novel recently, after seeing the teaser trailer. The novel definitely wasn't what I was expecting, though I still liked it.

I've liked the trailers. I'm curious how they adapted it. I'm going.

You mean a father-son melodrama set in the stomach of a whale? What’s not to like

"Son, it's important to always keep a hand grenade with you when you go off shore."

"Son, remember if you ever get swallowed by a whale, its sphincter is the weak point."
