So nothing has changed between where they left off the mediocre season 3 and now equally mediocre season 4.
This new Delores sucks. And now Teddy has super man speed?

Do tell...

Were you expecting them to be in the west as opposed to where the show left off?

It just seems like they are setting up for another story where they are constantly jumping timelines, further trying to "confuse" the viewer. Which I hate more than anything. If your goal is to confuse me while I watch your show, I don't want to watch.

It’s just very choppy. It’s almost like they cut away after showing 1/4 of the scenes. For example when they introduce Maeve and she’s “meditating” it’s about a 1min scene and it is pretty pointless of a scene then it cuts away and it goes to another shirt scene and then cuts back to her. It’s like that all episode and it’s been like that in the past

I actually dont about the flies With the server and the kids it was just something that I was kind of expecting going in. I figured there was going to be a new world. But the kids saying what they did also makes me think that was too obvious of a give away. I mean that's just more than a hint.

It's 7/8 years later. If it picked up immediately after season 3 then I'd probably already write if off as a bad move. This makes me think they are going away from that by not getting in to the war aspect of it. Seems to have closed that arc. Unless you were just hoping they were going to be away from the sci-fi and back to a western.

Looks like this show will remain a hot mess.

One of the last lines of the episode was something like.... "The War isn't over" or some BS that Caleb's wife said.
Clearly they are working towards the same old host/human war with Charlotte-Delores combo running the show for the hosts. I'm ganna assume she's working with Host William as well.

Is New Dolores in Futureworld?
Host MIB's convo with the Hoover Dam Mafia made it sound like he had been buying up a lot of scrubland before finally making a play to buy the data farm at the dam. Using William's vast fortune to buy up land to rebuild a park sounds like the kind of shite Halores would get up to.

Yea I mean I think it's pretty obvious....Charlottelores is trying to turn the world into one giant park for the hosts to take over. It also seems she's found a way to train her mechanical flies to take over someone's brain. Clearly she has host William working for her. If I had to guess, Delores will somehow magically remember everything and have one final duel with herself/Charlotte to save humanity AND host worlds combined.

Man you got it all figured out

Is it just me or does Aaron Paul have literally the worst tv wife since that b from The Walking Dead?
"This whole time I thought you were just a crazy paranoid weirdo, but I just saw you save our daughter from a gunman. Now, you're an a-hole for leaving us to protect us from whomever is sending these goons."

Yea, I really don't feel like I need to watch the rest of the season. I like my plot way better than anything they will come up with anyways.

She didnt bother me at all but now that you put it like that I guess she is pretty bad. But in her defense, I guess he's been paranoid for 8 years and nothing ever happened. She was probably pretty sick of that.

Keep watching it, it's too early to give up on it. Let's be honest, even if it's bad (hopefully not), bad Westworld is still better than most TV.

Her husband was only instrumental in OVERTHROWING A ROBOT AI GOVERNMENT! Completely illogical that someone might want to pay him back for that? Then, it actually f&%king happens, he saves the day to protect their daughter, and she SCOLDS him?! A rational response would have been to be, I don't know, appreciative of her husband? Like grateful that he SAVED THEIR DAUGHTER FROM A MURDERER 10 seconds ago!? Or maybe, just a little bit ashamed of doubting him all this time? Nope, she just doubles down on being a bitch to him for being so paranoid all the time and "always fighting". God forbid he go and DEFEND HIS FAMILY FROM MURDERERS cause doing so would be just more toxic masculine actions which he should not be teaching their daughter. Like, how dare you make our daughter wary of strangers and paranoid when there are ACTUAL MURDERERS trying to kill her?
I literally cannot think of a less fathomable response. It literally would have made more sense to me if the mother was in on it and then tried to kill Aaron with a little "you just had to keep digging" sudden heel turn, except it wouldn't have been sudden because she had already been acting like an absolute count in every scene she was in!

It is early to give up, you're right. I just hope they do better than last season...shouldn't be that hard but the bar is low.
Also, this new Delores sucks. It's only been one episode but damn she's boring.

not to mention, as it stands, he failed and Charlottelores is about to run it back.

I think this is by design. I think the idea was to make her this bland introvert that many women could "see themselves as". It's not going to work, but I think I understand what they're going for.
The other possibility is that they're keeping her bland because it will make her discovering all of this interesting stuff about her past more important as it will slowly develop her personality in a big way.

I think you're overreacting a bit
Yea, she wasn't appreciative of him saving their daughter. Which is ridiculous. It's pretty clear that she loves him though. She has put up with his paranoia for 8 years pretty easily. Also, she didn't bitch and complain when he left. She was upset he was leaving which is understandable but just letting your husband leave with another woman for who knows how long and not screaming and yelling at him for it is pretty commendable on her part.
Her character is not nearly as bad as you're making it out to be.

Yea I figured as much but what I don't get is why. We already have been through her character arc...I'm not sure what else they are trying to have her "discover". I just don't know what other attributes they are trying to build into her character? I don't know, just seems lazy to me. She's going to go through the same realizations becoming sentient as she did the first go around...
