I saw that movie with my mom. Within 5 minutes she leaned over and said he’s dead. And I immediately knew she was right. It was still a fun watch assuming he was dead the whole time

Was the grade you were in like the 4th grade, or were you actually in the 4th grade?

Is it actually like that important to you? The grade was a guesstimate, hence the "like".

I'm, like, of age now, bro. Sorry.

IMO it's the greatest twist of all time. It was right there in front of our eyes the entire time.

Since someone has already replied with Psycho, I’ll throw in Planet of the Apes as also providing a greater twist ending.

The Sixth Sense wasn’t bad though and deserves honorable mention.

Yes because it was before everyone knew a surprise ending was coming in shamalamadingdong’s films.

I did not see the movie until after I had read and heard "You'll never guess the amazing twist ending!" Thus, I was looking for the twist and figured it out. Same for Crying Game.

That is why, if I think I may watch a movie, I avoid reviews until after I've seen it. Don't tell me there is a damned twist!

I saw that in theater with family. When the reveal happened my grandmother said out loud, "What's that?"

Never saw it coming although I kept wondering why he kept wearing the same suit and why he and the mother didn't speak to each other.

I think Sixth Sense and The Usual Suspects were great endings as to the fact I never saw it coming

I remember telling my brother-in-law in the theater when I first saw it, “Bruce Willis is dead.”

this is the MTV board version of the linkedin poster telling stories about how his six year old said somethign super poignant and wise in the grocery store line that magically perfectly aligns with his company's mission statement.

no one believes you.

Oh, so you caught all the obvious clues while knowing what they point to? Sherlock fricking Holmes over here.

Sixth Sense: I don't believe that anyone in 1999 "Saw it coming."

Crying Game: I find it hard to believe that anyone didn't "See it coming." (My wife turned to me during the end credits and asked, "I thought there was some big shocking twist?" When I told her what the twist was, she said, "We weren't suppose to know that from the start?"

Most people still don't realize Total Recall was all a dream.. even given all the clues. (Schwarzenegger version)

The Usual Suspects

Unfortunately I had seen Wrongfully Accused before I saw The Usual Suspects. The parody scene in it with Nielsen reading clues off the wall gave away the ending for when I finally saw The Usual Suspects… still was a damn good movie.

The Sting, too. And Seven and Twelve Monkeys if they are twist endings.

There are two I saw coming - possible spoilers since they aren't as old:

Shutter Island and Gone Baby Gone. But I'd gotten more used to the idea of twist endings by then and there were a few things in each that didn't make sense (especially Shutter Island which I thought telegraphed it).
