Same here, that's why I am trying to understand the people that disliked it.
I agree that it's too dark. I hated season 7 and basically wanted vince to die from a coke binge fwiw

You had to know the first episode would be dark after the way the last season ended. Other than that what did yall hate so much? I thought it was a good bit funnier than most of the episodes from last season and even season 6

This is what I'm trying to figure out, but I think the people that disliked it all went to sleep or something

It wasn't a very deep show to begin with but ever since they promoted that chick to lead writer, it's gone to shite.
Who the hell thought it was a good idea to have a chick writing what is essentially a guy show?
This. The writing has changed so much since the first couple of seasons. Drama used to be my favorite character, but now...meh.

well i've taken 2 or 3 years off, and i can tell you why i thought it sucked
they were trying to have a dramatic show. that's fine. i don't hate on that
the problem is the characters at heart were developed for a surrealistic comedy show
turtle and drama did not fit. their whole parts in last night's ep were so silly it was stupid. it was just jarring to go from drama to slapstic silliness to drama. can't take the drama seriously anymore, and the jokes were giggle jokes at best
plus, are we to assume vince is borderline retarded now? early in the show, vince was a film lover who had a wide experience and interest in film. that idea he had was absolutely retarded. now if a girl or drugs made him do that? fine. but he had neither.
to summarize, it's almost as if ever character became a mini billy walsh

No matter the plot twists or how they dress it up, Entourage has always been a one trick pony. It was funny and clever for the first couple of seasons, but it long ago wore out its welcome for me.

yeah i feel the same way
you can only dress up "how cool is it to be hot, rich, and famous in la?" so many times without it being stale

The more famous you become the more insulated and out of touch you become
Eric has always been the voice of reason for the show and for Vince
I hated drama and turtle in this episode

I guess that's the big difference, I thought Drama was hilarious throughout this episode

The theme of protecting Vince from drinking/drugs was way overdone as was the theme that Vince didn't call Eric the day he was getting out of rehab.
Surely they could have developed something else.

I enjoyed it. I thought they set up the season nicely.
Oh, and Mrs. Gold is such a skank.

Eric's constant bitching really gets on my nerves
other than that, i enjoyed last nights episode
oh, and turtle being skinny looks weird

I have hated Vinny since last season. He's absolutely terrible. Drama's schtick has run it's course and he's become more annoying than funny. Turtle smokes weed...we get it. Ari and E are the only ones that don't deserve a good beating. I don't even know what to say about Tweeter except that he literally is Tweeter. Same guy.

I am hoping they back track and explain why Sloan is so mad at Eric
I also would have enjoyed the Eric and Scott dumping Murray story to have played out on screen

I don't like the whole Sloan dumping E thing at all. That relationship either needs to work or die, I'm tired of the flip flopping
