What did I miss? I fell out after the baby scene in the first five mins. Wife made a good dinner.

Yeah that scene almost made me lose my dinner. That was gross.

A lot happened for a pilot.
High body count. No one is safe.

First episode was really good. Only issue I have is when that demon baby came through the movie screen, they all just sat there. I guess the doors would've probably closed if they did run, but I would've at least tried before it got back up.

I saw a recap show and it explained that the black soldier driving the Jeep is the SAME guy from the Shining and this trailer comfirms that.
Also the black officer is the grandfather of the black kid in the recent movie.

So are the kids really dead? Or are they just trapped inside another dimension or whatever? I don't much about the lore, and have never read the books.

I'm assuming they are really dead.

The aftershow (on Max right after the episode) gives the impression they're very much dead.

It's worth mentioning that the show is a prequel that is going to be the stories between the pages based on Mike Hanlon's research in the IT book. And each event is going to be a season focus (for a 3 season arc). This season is The Black Spot (which makes sense why we're seeing a lot of reviews regarding racial tension if you know the history of that incident in Hanlon's research). I think S2 is going to be the Bradley Gang and the last the Kitchener Ironworks. A lot of folks gonna die.

Damn. So just go into this like GOT and don't get attached to someone because they will probably die.

if they're basing these stories on the interludes from the book, there will be a lot of death and not a lot of surviving.

First episode was ok but i thought the trailer afterwards showing what’s coming in later episodes looked pretty great.
