Watched the first episode. So far so good. Except the gomez character is cringeworthy bad. Not sure why they casted this way and made him seem so dumb

I think he's alright.

Tony Dalton would be awesome as Gomez

I don’t know what they were thinking when they cast that fat midget as Gomez

Also watched the first episode, the girl that plays Wednesday really knocks it out of the park. Not sure how the seasons gonna go but at least the lead is very good.

Jenna Ortega is great in everything. I gotta say she picks good roles for a kid from the disney channel.

I think it's a requirement below a certain shade of pigment.

We just finished it... overall very watchable. I thought the casting was excellent and can appreciate this iteration of Gomez independent of other versions. It was not as dark as Sabrina, but thought it had a similar vibe. Looking forward to new seasons, which they clearly left the story open for.

Sabrina had legit witchcraft/Satanic incantations. There have been human sacrifices that are less dark than the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

The only problem I had with the series is that the episodes were a bit long. By which I mean you'd hit a certain mark, think to yourself, this a was a really good episode... and then realize there was another 15 minutes to go.

I could barely pick out Ricci in Yellowjackets. The main character as a teenager was a spitting image of her.

I haven't watched yet but I will. Before watching, I think Luis Guzman is miscast. Gomez has style and some swag, Guzman has never really had either of those things. But he's a decent actor, comedic and otherwise, so we'll see.

Guzman is the closet looking to Gomez from the comic strip:

We've been conditioned since the 60's TV version to see Gomez as a more "suave" patriarch compare to the fat father of the 1930's comic strip.

That being said most (myself included) prefer the more refined version of Gomez. John Astin was great but Raul Julia redefined the role of Gomez.

I can't disagree with any of that, it's all true. Raul Julia was best in the role. His debonaire version fit perfectly as Morticia's husband.

Only 4 episodes in.
I'm enjoying it. The new Wednesday actress is very good.
I was hoping the blonde from Addams family 2 would show back up as a pilgrim.

And I agree. Raul Julia set the precedent as Gomez. I understand this is a comically accurate Gomez.. but no.
I want a more suave, believable, and super loving Gomez.

We really enjoyed it. Been waiting for it t come out.
Would have preferred a better Gomez as well.
I felt the same that it had Sabrina vibes.
