Tom Sizemore's family is now 'deciding end of life matters,' as doctors say there's no hope for recovery

Actor Tom Sizemore, who suffered a brain aneurysm Feb. 18, as the result of a stroke, and had been hospitalized in critical condition, in a coma and in intensive care since then, is no longer expected to recover.

He is 61 years old.

He went hard for most of his adult life. Decades of booze, meth, cocaine, and pills eventually catches up to anyone.

We lost him as an actor a decade ago.

His family is losing him now. Hopefully they find peace in him being in a better place.

Dude was a rising star in the 90s, but not sure he ever fit the comic book era. Hate he had such a troubled run later in life, but he burned that wick fast.

Yeah but people are still making decent dramas. Sizemore's filmography is pretty amazing; he will be missed:

Born on the Fourth of July
Flight of the Intruder (really underrated Vietnam movie)
Point Break
True Romance
Striking Distance (yeah but he was really good in it)
Wyatt Earp
Natural Born Killers
Strange Days
Devil in a Blue Dress
Heat
The Relic
Saving Private Ryan
Bringing Out the Dead
Black Hawk Down.

His Wyatt Earp '94 through Black Hawk Down '01 is an amazing run of movies that most actors won't come close to.

His journals are said to have ALL the dirt on the various players on both sides of the camera in Hollywood. When he passes, there's going to be a mad scramble to get hands on these logs.

Not really a big deal. Decent actor, but a pretty terrible human.

Sizemore's filmography is pretty amazing;

He has an incredible 34 credits on IMDB right now that are in some form of production. That's an insane workload he had or would have this year had he been healthy.

I'm not a court of law and don't have to give him the benefit of doubt. I will take the little girls word over the known scumbag.

quote:

The roughly half-hour session required the young actress, who had a small role in the production, to be seated on Sizemore’s lap in a holiday tableau. This is when Sizemore allegedly either rubbed his finger against the girl’s vagina or inserted it inside.

quote:

During one setup, which required just the two of them, Robyn Adamson, who portrayed the wife, stood away, near the photographer. She recalls of the girl, who was wearing a flannel nightgown: “At one point her eyes got just huge, like she could’ve vomited. I was watching her. She soon reintegrated and kept going, although she had trouble taking direction. Later, when I was told about what happened, I knew exactly what it was.”

quote:

Catrine McGregor, the casting director who hired the young actress, fielded a call from the actress’ agent the next day, explaining that the girl had informed her mother that she’d been inappropriately touched. “The mother noticed that her daughter was unusually quiet and told her she was going to take her to this swimming place that was the little girl’s favorite thing,” says McGregor, a four-decade veteran in the business, who notes that she subsequently filed a complaint with SAG’s legal department and advocated for Sizemore’s immediate dismissal from the project. (SAG declined to comment.) “When the girl put on her bathing suit, she told her mother that it reminded her of the day before, in an upsetting way — that the bathing suit’s contact against her felt like what happened when the man had put his finger inside her,”

quote:

It filtered down to the crew,” says Roi Maufas, who worked as a production assistant. “The little girl said what she said and we all thought, ‘That fricking sleazebag.’ There was never any doubt. He was this guy who was already known for making inappropriate comments, being drunk, being high. We’re talking about consistent behavior, just being ‘Tom Sizemore’ on set every day. Then this happens. Guys reached for hammers.

The light that burns twice as bright, burns half as long.

A really fine actor (at times), with a host of personal demons.
