My best friend can't watch movies in the theater. Cold and darkness put him to sleep every time. He finally gave up.

Hidden Fortress. Years ago. Prytania Theater in New Orleans.

The add in the paper stated the movie was the inspiration for Star Wars.

It was a black and white subtitled movie. I was enjoying it but my ride said lets roll. He was pissed.

Lucas did say that Kurosawa's work was an inspiration for the way the story was told, but that movie came out in the 50's. You must be knocking on 70's door.

Did you ever get to finish it?

I can't imagine seeing that in a theater, but it's great to watch late at night when you're drunk and want to annoy your wife.

Only reason I even know that movie exists is because Rosario Dawson was in it. It's in the top 10 film financial failures of all time.

At the time Eddie was making a come back with Shrek and The Klumps. But this was a horrible idea. And Randy Quaid as the "Martian" was just plain creepy.

I've never walked out of a theatre. That being said, I don't go to see too many flicks on the big screen. I'm pretty good on selecting movies that won't end up being turds.

However, there are a couple of movies that I probably should have stepped out on. That recent Indiana Jones abortion comes to mind...

Walking out does make a statement... but not enough of one to halt the barrage of garbage that floods our movie halls.

If I did I walked out of one theater and into another one. Get something out of my $.

But I've sat through some terrible movies. Didn't make it 30 minutes into BATTLEFIELD EARTH though.

You were in the theater for Battlefield Earth? Poor bastard.

The movie was terrible, but I can't even imagine the likes of people that you were surrounded by...

No BATTLEFIELD was a rental.

I usually leave bad movies on in the background and surf the net. That movie was still bad I still turned it off.

Usually I suffer through.

I walked out on Spider Man 2...I was sick and it just got to dull for me to sit through it.

Nope. Actually, at the time The Prytania Theater was into showing older movies. I think it was the late 80s when I attempted to see it.
