Well the muscles work so maybe the diaphragm is working causing the lungs to still inflate and deflate even though they serve no other purpose. Most likely just another thing we need to look past. Who knows.

I didn't even look in the thread for last week's episode, but wow, these threads can't even make it a day anymore without the spoiler talk starting.

And at the "zombie doctor" talk about zombie anatomy.

Yep, Rick hit the first guy with a headshot, then turned and shot the fat dude mid-section. He capped it off with a second shot to the head.

This, of course, follows the Zombie Land Rule #2: The Double Tap.

The show is entertaining but requiring more and suspension of belief. Some really big plot holes IMO.

- seriously, can no one keep track of ninja Carl?
- why would Shane lead Rick all through the woods to kill him only to ultimately decide to do so in a meadow in clear view and sound of the house? Why not just in the woods? Ok, he went nuts, but still that isvpretty weak and was only done so stupid arse Carl could be in the scene.
- shames gun goes off during the struggle yet no one, including walkers, hears it?yet two minutes later the entire world hears carls gun? Dumb.
- where did this army of walkers come from? Weren't they supposedly surrounded by natural barriers? T
A thousand rounds of practice didn't draw them but carls shot did?

Did anyone else think Shane looked more aggresive, stronger, and eyes a different color when he "turned"? Could this be a difference between him and randall and other infections through bites or scratches?

I think you answered your own question.

As for the walkers and the gunshots, they may have heard the first gunshot, but the second one allowed them to better localize which direction the shot came from. As for why the practice shooting didn't draw walkers, I believe they went some distance from the farm for the practice shooting, plus the walkers may not have been within hearing range at that time. Like the group on the road at the start of the season, the walkers tend to get around.

What the heck is your gripe against me?

That you "speculate" with prior knowledge of what will happen (or what happens in the comics).

You post all up in the spoiler threads. So you tell me to:
quote:

connect the dots... on the Shane part

Which is all fine and good, except that you a) already know that everyone reanimates from the comics, and b) that Shane comes back as a zombie (from the comics and the spoiler thread from last week).

My point is that it's not speculation, because you already know. Similar to the "Oh just wait!!" comments in the thread (about Shane...I don't remember who had said that) and in the threads from last week (or the week before).

Things like this:
quote:

Connect the dots!!

And then the very next words you type are these:
quote:

Yes this happens in the comic books

That sucks.
quote:

I wasn't sure if this was just something that happened in the comics and not in the show, or was going to be in both. But I wait to bring it up till it was presented in the show and Randle had already come back.

Again, you knew it happened in the comics, and you couldn't wait to talk about it in here. So you jump the gun and post things that YOU KNOW FOR A FACT are gonna happen, and then try to play it off as speculation.
quote:

The last few episodes have been almost entirely on Carl's arc as a protagonist. He goes from defiant, to scared, to guilty, to remorseful, (completely giving up the gun saying he never wants to shot again) and then the slow build from when Rick gives him the gun saying he won't always be around to protect him or the group. What is this building to....... do you think all dialog and actions are just meaningless?

We (as in people who don't know Carl's general character in the comic) have no idea what it's building to. That's the point. Of course things are obvious to you and it's really easy for you to "read between the lines" or "figure out" something...because you already know it is gonna happen. I'm simply asking you to stop doing it in these threads. And it's not something that you haven't done before.

That is my gripe with you.

My thoughts:

If the security guys from a few episodes ago didn't have any bites or scratches, how did they die? I don't remember seeing any wounds at all. If they didn't die, how did they turn?

Watch your kid people.

The young guy on the farm has had lines before. He talked with Rick once about searching for Sophia and Rick told him he needed to talk to Hershel first. Also, he also helped Rick and Hershel get the two zombies that were stuck in the swamp, right before the barn massacres.

Hershell said something about the creeks drying up and not protecting them like they used to.

Enigma, I'm sure you don't mean to dude, but the comic knowledge is so ingrained in you that you probably don't realize how much your discussion reflects it.

I'm a big fan of the comic too and that's why I try to stay away from the prediction game in these threads. It sucks sometimes that I can't get into that kind of discussion but I'm not playing on the same field as non-comic readers and there's no way to change that.

Ex-fricking-zactly.

And FWIW, it's one reason I try to avoid episode threads until after the show airs/I watch it. Some people seem to love to "speculate" on things they kinda already know. I don't even think Enigma is necessarily doing it on purpose, but the bottom line is that he's doing it and it sucks.

And I don't like coming off like a spoiler bitch, but the spoilers surrounding TWD have been out of hand for two seasons now (especially this one). And it sucks that people can't just discuss the show and only the show, especially when there are threads for spoilers and the comics and whatnot. It's frustrating.

I thought about that last night when they killed the zombie and he let out a final gasp of breath. Thought that was kinda weird.

Didn't Rick make a comment something to the effect of "it must have been scratches"? Obviously leading up to his secret.

Has it been established that they don't breathe, or simply that they don't need to? Someone else pointed out that obviously their muscles work, so I would assume that the body resumes many of it's functions, but what was once voluntary becomes involuntary. In fact, that is a big part of Romero zombie lore, but in a more satirical sense, such as the zombies all flocking to the mall on "instinct"

Dude you continually post spoilers. And it's a douche move. Making the call that Carl is going to shoot Shane, Shane is going to try and kill Rick, granted they have been building to that, but saying it when he kills randall, you had no other way to know that, saying that comes directly from the knowledge you have from reading the comics. To deny that is just bullshite. Just don't say anything about anything spoilerish, it's not that hard.

Here is a spoiler for you.. there will be zombies in the season finale.

:omg:

I do agree with LSUZombie:

quote:

quote:

I know you feel this was spoiled for you, but this is literally zombie 101. You die, no matter how, you are coming back. It's like that in the original Night of the Living Dead. It's like that in pretty much every zombie film in existence.

And there is a virus going around that's inside everyone, though it doesn't kick in until you die. And yes, zombie bites and scratches are 100% fatal due to the infection that will result. And once you die, which depends on the person and severity of the injury, you will come back.

+100

IMO, I didn't spoil anything for anyone. If I did you obvious weren't paying close enough attention. Even you agree with me :
quote:

granted they have been building to that

If it makes everyone happy I will post only in a separate in-show thread next week that will be labeled for possible spoilers.
Now can we please drop it?

People who post in the spoilers thread and read the comics shouldn't be allowed to "speculate"
