Add in, Ewan is also the Executive Producer, who likely had a hand in approving the cast (or in this case, miscast), so he has double the reasons to support her bad acting.

OK, I listened to the clip. Ewan didn’t directly attack the fanbase, just the fans sending Moises Ingram racist and unacceptable texts. He says nothing about the story or the fans at large here unlike Kathleen Kennedy. I will only start watching Star Wars again if Kennedy is fired, so that doesn’t change, but yeah Ewan isn’t going after the fans who simply don’t like the show.
And while it is very acceptable to attack Rose’s character, I do remember quite a few racist posts on here about her race and personally attacking the actress, which I think is out of line. The only people responsible for the disaster that is The Last Jedi are Kathleen Kennedy, Rian Johnson, their disciples, and to a lesser extent JJ Abrams. The cast couldn’t save the movie, so like ripping into the Game of Thrones cast at the end of the show, I don’t think it’s appropriate to rip into cast members with the exception of miscasting and the actor/actress preliminarily ripping into the fans in a manner say Brie Larson would do.
