Is it the best comic movie ever? No. Is it pretty good? Yes.Hardy is great as always. The first 2/3rds of the movie is great. The last third was very rushed. Still, I thought it had some potential. And I hope the Chinese numbers will give us a sequel. I liked it a lot.

I liked it more than the typical MCU MacGuffin films we’ve been getting. No forced diversity, no dumb SJW message. Just straight up entertainment. Hardy did a great job

How is one movie forced and another not forced?

It was not very good. Hopefully DC and Aquaman can take the stench out of everyone’s noses from the last two stinkers that the people at Marvel dropped in Venom and Ant-Man and the Wasp

eh. I thought it was pretty silly, even for a comic book movie.
Did not care for Hardy's acting at all in this, or the writing.

After watching it, i thought to myself, that movie had a lot of potential to be really good, and it just wasn't that good.

I was happy the first time "venom" showed up in his big form. All I could think was "This is all I wanted in spider-man 3..."

Venom had the same effect on me that Fantastic Beasts 2 had. The 3rd act was so entertaining that I left the movie having thoroughly enjoyed the experience even though the 1st and 2nd acts slogged along.

Actually one of the rare movies my wife and I went to see at the theater because I am such a big Hardy fan. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Really hoping for a sequel.

God Bless any creature that just eats bad guys.

Just watched. How the hell did that not get better ratings?! Best line, "let's bite off their heads and pile them in a corner" or "that looks delicious" ....lol.

I finally watched it last night expecting it to be pretty bad, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Just looked at its rating on rotten tomatoes. Its not as bad as the 4.4 from the critics, but its definitely not as good as the 8.4 audience rating.

Is it ok for an 11 year old to watch given he’s seen all the MCU movies with the exception of Deadpool 1 & 2? He did see the edited Once Upon a Deadpool version though.

It is somewhere in between Spider Man 3 / Green Lantern / Suicide Squad and Iron Man 3 in the rankings. Not horrible, so better than SM/GL/SS, but not good enough for any sort of accolades, like Iron Man 3, just not as good as IM3. If I am ranking all comic book movies made post 2000, Venom is probably 5th worst:

Worst to best:

Green Lantern
Spider Man 3
Suicide Squad
X-Men Origins: Wolverine / The Wolverine
Batman Vs Superman
Venom
Justice League
Ant Man and the Wasp
Iron Man 3
==============
After Iron Man 3, all post 2000 comic movies not named above are decent or better. I may have missed some stinkers but these came to mind as the worst in 1 min of thinking about it.

Then yes. There's an f-bomb towards the end. Aside from that I don't think there was anything he wouldn't see on primetime cable.
