For my 5 year old child?

Animation will play better, so I’m leaning towards Rebels, but Episode IV would be also be the natural entry point.

Can anyone make the case for or against any other entry point?

(I’m not showing him the sequels)

Go with Rebels. It will lead into Episode IV.

I did for my kids starting at 4 years old:

Rebels
Clone Wars
TPM
AotC
RotS
ANH
ESB
RotJ
Rogue One
Solo
TFA
TLJ

I still haven’t shown them the Abortion of Ep. 9.

Their favorite BY FAR is Rebels

Start with OT. I saw Ep IV when I was five. And I turned out...OK.

I’m thinking

Rebels
A New Hope
Menace
AtoC
Clone Wars
Revenge of the Sith
Empire
Jedi

I’m skipping Rogue One for a 5 year old.

Leave out the ST. If the kid ever asks about it one day tell him/her it was put here by Satan to deceive us just like dinosaur fossils. It’s not real.

Cmon man. I watched Predator and Terminator 2 as a 6 year old and loved them. Had a part in making me interested in bodybuilding, actually, because of Arnold’s influence.

So I should expect my son to be interested in becoming a spy? A Sith Lord?

There are no Arnolds in Rogue One.

Original trilogy.

Don't mess with anything else. Let your son take it from there and don't push anything else.

Update: today was the day.

The boy loves R2.

I went with IV and for the first 20 minutes he was into it (though we broke for lunch).

Later, I did the Rebels SHORTS, and he loved it so much we watched the first 2 episodes of Rebels season 1 and it kept his focus.

Rebels is the entry point for young kids right now. Full stop.

Just do the six films and Rogue One. That's it.

I think Rebels and SW77 are really good entry points. The PT and Clone Wars have a lot of politics and are spread across a lot of characters and locations. Rebels stays with the same primary cast for all four seasons and SW77 has a pretty direct story line and fun characters.

Of course, I have a very special place in my heart for Rebels and The Clone Wars.

Parmy, the animated Star Wars shows, Clone Wars and Rebels, are too good to dismiss them.

Have you seen them?

Rebels definitely for that age.

Clone Wars is my favorite thing in star wars honestly though.
