I thought it was great. But it wasn't that funny. The first reel is like watching Bambi.

I agree with this. I thought it was very well done and it is probably one of my favorite Pixar movies. Easily one of the best movies I've seen so far this year (though the only competition at this point is Watchmen, Star Trek, and T4)

Good movie, kind of sad, but good.

I don't use this term ever, but this was pretty close to a masterpiece. Those of you saying otherwise are, quite simply, dumb. Pixar's best, and I'm dead serious.

Daring, sad, melancholy, sweet, adventurous. A really great film.

The only Pixar movie that is "meh" is Cars. Only 2 of their movies are below 95% Rotten Tomatoes, so needless to say, their movies aren't "meh" but masterpieces. Everything doesn't have to be like Dreamworks where they base the character around the actor, the plot is secondary, and it has a bunch of pop culture references. There have been 0 A-listers in Pixar's last 3 films, so they are clearly more plot oriented than pretty much every other animation studio.

Agreed. Animation doesn't have to be hilarious or cute to be a great film.

I enjoyed the 3D aspect and the plot. I love all the Pixar movies and really enjoy that they broadened the spectrum on this one with some adult humor, blood, etc.

My only qualm is I wished they would have showed more of the adventure of getting there. It seemed as though he just took off and then he was there.

I have no problem admitting that I am unfairly critical of Pixar. I became this way sometime during either my 66th viewing of Finding Nemo or my 48th viewing of Monsters Inc.

To me, these movies are all dreadfully similar, and it has become a chore to watch them much of the time. I will admit that Wall-E and Up should be exceptions, as they are not centered around stereotypical kiddie crap (talking cars, talking toys, talking animals, monsters, etc).

I haven't found a Pixar movie to be thoroughly enjoyable since my first viewing of Monsters Inc.

I was digging it, until they landed, and got the bird involved.

"Masterpieces"? Let's not get carried away here.

Not all of them, but many of them are. Wall-e certainly was.

Not to me, but I won't argue against this.

It may be unfair, but I don't think I could ever view a cartoon on the same level as something that I would consider a "masterpiece", at least when it comes to films.

I thought Wall-e was a great film until eve showed up. The best part of the movie was watching wall-e's ocd arse rolling around earth on his own. Then it became just a straight up "rescue the damsel in distress movie."

took my son to see it in 3D today, i thought it was good, not great

i think it had more emotional depth than usual for a Disney movie, but that seems to be the trend lately

there must have been a problem with the 3D focus because as we walked out they were giving everyone a free pass to come back, i didnt listen to the exact reasoning, but i noticed some streaking on the screen during the movie

i do agree that the 3D was not a major component to this movie, the effects in Bolt were much better

I would have enjoyed it more if I wouldn't have been crying for practically the whole movie. The beginning part without dialogue was the saddest. But I really liked it and I usually fall asleep during movies.
