For the release date police, I am very sorry my comment wrecked your day lol…try to calm down. With wit, grit, and no small amount of courage, I believe you can make it through this storm.
this will definitely win people over to your side

apparently he's opening a bar in college station this year called Johnny Manziel's Money Bar which is the cringiest shite i can think of.

That story of why the Texans passed on him in the draft is pretty damn funny.

It actually seems archaic now, given the ease that athletes can rightfully capitalize on their celebrity through NIL deals, that players were actually punished for any self-promotion and/or side-hustling autograph sessions.
With that said, if Johnny would've made $5M/NIL annually while still in school, the wheels might've come off the ride even sooner given his makeup. Hell, the little money from Netflix might even encourage another potential spiral.
I also wonder if he messed up again by admitting on video to laundering un-taxed cash through his family.

I'm actually feeling a bit of sympathy for him after watching this.

One thing is for sure, and that is he cannot help himself. He is an addict, therefore completely powerless to control himself…think about it. There is no way a “normal” person could be that big of an idiot. I’m not saying he gets a pass, but I definitely have a different perspective on him after watching this…

well i have to think that an addict opening a bar in a college town cant be the best thing for his recovery or maturation progress.
he's a fricking moron, and he'll probably end up wrapped around a college station telephone pole sooner or later.

between the article that came out about him after his first year with ESPN (actually a very good article) and my contacts in Tyler and Kerrville ISD, the kid was doomed from the get go by his own family. never stood a chance.
I also have contacts in Whitehouse ISD who say Pat Mahomes was always a great kid in every facet.

The Honey Badger was actually on a similar trajectory, fame got to him in college and was headed down a similar path to never playing in the NFL and wasting his talent.
Whoever got him back on path, it worked and he ended up with a nice NFL career and able to give back to the community and even still reps and donates time/money to LSU, the team that kicked him off.

I still remember (iirc) the first hype thing from him was some YT video of him making some insane throws just playing around. Wanted to like the guy but couldn’t, too douchey and tone deaf. He did kick some arse in CFB though.
Curious if the doc pulls any punches or not.

They brought in St. Aug to spank him.

They omitted those highlights unsurprisingly.

After watching this, I don’t think he is in recovery. One of the first scenes is him at a bbq with his buddies. Lots of drinking and looks like he hits a joint. Later in the doc, he’s just sitting in a chair drinking a Stella.
No judgement, just pointing it out.

Yeah they definitely didn’t do him any favors. Sumlin/Kingsbury deserve some blame here too.

I don’t think the show ever insinuated he was in recovery…without spoilers, the end of the show was definitely not some triumphant return to glory, or him on a traveling circuit warning kids about the dangers of partying…he’s still in trouble.

That was my takeaway as well. With all the shite he talked about College Station, the fact that he is opening a bar there speaks volumes on how he’s doing financially
