Until Dawn video game being adapted into film

The popular horror-survival game from 2015 is getting a live action movie for its troubles. The cast of that game was fairly impressive, even for its time, with actors such as Peter Stormare, Hayden Panettiere, Rami Malek, and Brett Dalton providing voice as well as motion capture performances.
Peter Stormare is returning for the film to play therapist Dr. Hill, a role made famous by him in the game. Other cast members include Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Ji-young Yoo, Odessa A'Zion, Maia Mitchell, and Belmont Camell.
If you have played the game I'm fairly certain you know the story and how it ends, but for those of you who haven't, here is the log line for the film:
Production of the film began yesterday.

I enjoyed that game, pretty fun, and really did scare you a bit here and there

I'm curious how close of an adaptation it'll be.

Absolutely. A bit uncanny valley but honestly the story made it all work regardless of the limitations.
About the only reason to not use the original actors is that they'll all be 10 years older and it's supposed to be a group of high school kids.

Seems the movie is going in a completely different direction than the game.

Choice and consequence system is what made the game
The actual story, if you think about it, is pretty generic, Essentially a very basic "cabin in the woods" meets Supernatural S1E2
Maybe it will be a choice-enabled streaming movie?

Since my original comment, they've released more info and it's completely different.

Now it is a group version of Happy Death Day.

I like that take on how to incorporate the video game mechanic into the movie. Pretty slick.

So this is basically I Still Know What You Did Last Summer with a time/paradox twist to it.
Eh, frick it I'm in.

People who loved the game and attended the test screenings of the film didn’t seem to like it, but first-timers appeared to enjoy it alot.

Yeah. I wonder why they are trying to connect it to the game. It is completely different. There was no time paradox, and there sure as hell wasn't coming back and starting over once they died like the movie is doing.
The only thing the same is Peter Stormare is in it.
