I'm the same way. Halloween 4 is great and a must watch the week of Halloween. 5 is good but I didn't like the mute girl storyline.

Those are the ones I like: where you don't know what the hell is going on.

For Halloween (or really any other time) I don't like slasher type movies, but I enjoy the ones that have creepy atmosphere and/or mindf*ck type plots.

Another very creepy one is The Machinist with Christian Bale.
