This movie was also a game changer in cinema sound. I remember it had some newer technology.

It was the first movie I ever saw in a theater that had one of those THX pre-movie surround sound features. It was a train coming from left to right. Still gives me chills.

Used to be under $10 at Waffle House before COVID

Last waffle house I saw (about 3 weeks ago) didn't even have steak and eggs on the menu anymore. I bet it's an 'off menu' item now that they don't want to advertise too much b/c steak is so expensive.

in that movie, you would be wrong.

I don't understand how the tornado's could pull boards off nails, but couldn't yank Helen's clothes off.

Not sure how they're gonna make the sequel without Bill Paxton.
He wasn't the heart of the movie..

This was.

I agree. The should have also been impaled.

I enjoyed the movie and have it on DVD and am currently watching for free on Tubi.

Every time that I watch it I have to pull out my Deep Purple-Made in Japan CD and listen to Sweet Child in Time.

Deep Purple - Child in Time - Made in Japan (1972)

This is another live version. Very good: Deep Purple - Child In Time - Live (1970)

I watched this movie 5 times at the theater which is my record. While I did love it it was more because time and time again I found myself around a group of people going to see it and I had nothing else to do.

Could also be argued it set the table for non-existent story CGI movies to become a staple... Good or bad.

Rewatching the movie w/o the awe and thrill of the time, the script must've been been written on the drive over to the CGI lab.

But it certainly was a game changer for its time in Cinema experience.

Man, I could not disagree more. I said the opposite on the first page. The dialogue in my opinion is much better than it needed to be. I could listen to the audio like an audiobook and still be entertained. To each his own I guess.

Its a fun movie but the plot is thinner than Cast Away and Wilson has more screen time than Jaime Gertz's throwaway character.

Plot:

Helen Hunt won't sign divorce papers. Chase Twisters with estranged husband. Reconcile. The End.

Movie theater experience at the time? Great. Anything remotely interesting when we don't see cows flying? Nah.
