I can’t recall if it was ever proved but highly implied Simcoe did it.

Was a major factor in the abolition of slavery in Upper Canada, was a pain the arse of the United States during the the conflict with the natives in the Northwest Territory, and he was a leader of the British when they invaded Haiti during the slave rebellion. Some people just have very interesting lives.
Canadians celebrate Simcoe Day, I believe it is a paid holiday.

Don't think it was ever proved, but Simcoe gave the horse the apple to entice Hewlett to turn up the heat on trying to find the spies in Setauket

The guy who played Simcoe must have love playing him. He was a pure villain that was just such a terrible person. Great show

Just wanted to make an Anna Strong contribution to the thread. Loved to hate Simcoe though. Great actor, terrible character.
