I liked it. Expected it to start out slow, so uneasy that upset by it. Looking forward to the rest.

We'll have to figure out the history together.
The war began with the siege of Boston. The Continentals eventually won the siege. Washington than suspected that the British would try to take New York because there were a ton of loyalists in New York. Washington marched down and fortified the city. But he had no chance when the British showed up. A series of battles were fought from Manhattan following the retreating Continental army which was pretty broken. I believe it's around this point that the story takes place.

It did start slow, but I didn't mind that. Finished really strong. Subject matter seems like it might keep it from being a hit, but I really liked it.

Thought it was a great start and glad to add it to the lineup. The American Revolution is one of my favorite time periods in history so I've really enjoyed this so far. Good stuff.

Pilots are usually slow considering they're mainly for character development/introduction.
I enjoyed the hell out of it. But like someone said, history isn't very many people's strong suit. Then again, not many people with half a brain would even recognize what's going on and would watch. Hope the ratings were decent and they keep this going.

So I watched Sunday night and then re-watched on Monday. There is really a lot going on, and I caught a lot of little nuances that I missed the first time around.
Can't help but feel for the position Abe is being put into, enjoyed the acting of the British Major and his relationship with Abe's father, and some very good quips and scenes tying some issues of yesteryear to today; water boarding, taxes, war crimes.
This show may be tough for some as it does not explain much of the historical context, and unfortunately the American Revolution seems rather neglected as a setting for movies or TV.
There are some liberties being taken it seems, I don't think Andre was doing spy master work until later since he would have been up in Canada or captured at this point.

On a very competitive night that included HBO’s Game of Thrones season opener, CBS’s Academy of Country Music AMC's TurnAwards and, yes, WrestleMania 30 on pay-per-view, AMC‘s new crunchy-gravel drama Turn logged a hefty 2.1 million viewers at 9 PM last night. With the repeat viewing at 10:30 PM, that crowd grew to a cumed 3 million viewers. Among the premiere telecast’s 2.1 mil were 669,000 demo viewers; with the 10:30 PM repeat factored in, that stat grows to 1.1 million. Even better, the quarterly stats throughout the 90-minute premiere remained consistent, which means viewers did not look at a few minutes of the period piece and respond “Yikes!”

And, FYI, the Breaking Bad premiere, on January 20, 2008, logged 1.411 million viewers while Mad Men’s unveiling, on July 19, 2007, clocked 1.645 million.

Great news, hope the next couple episodes are strong enough to keep the momentum.

Glad to read that. Thought the premiere was pretty good and I'm looking forward to how it develops. Took a minute to build up, but when it did it really did well.
I'm like BamaChick though, I appreciate the man candy they're throwing out for us.
