Ben Tallmadge was Washington's lieutenant. The Culper Ring was his idea after Nathan Hale was hanged as a spy. They needed someone to get info from New York but spies were easy to spot if they went around asking too many questions and NY was full of loyalists. Tallmadge enlisted his friends to act as spies.
Abe's dad wasn't a loyalist like he's being portrayed.

First hour very slow but they needed it that way for the setup. Last 30 minutes were great.

Half the actors in this show are stage actors who barely have wikipedia pages.

I really enjoyed it.
I know nothing of the real history, so this stuff is very interesting to me.
Plus, the actors who play Abraham Woodhall and Ben Tallmadge are very nice to look at.
Abraham's father - is he a minister? - is a real dick.

Yeah - maybe his dad is also a spy but trying to keep his son out of it.
And their last name is Woodhull, not Woodhall.
I have a feeling deciphering some of the dialogue with all this accents may prove tricky.

After watching some of the videos, Abraham's father is a magistrate (judge).
And Jamie Bell, who plays Abraham, was the kid from "Billy Elliot".
