Also, the flier is yellow. Could be coincidence but Rust does say in the first episode that every little detail counts so maybe not.

I forget, at what point was that notebook screenshot taken?

And I want to know the significance of the green spaghetti face sketch from episode 1. A mask of some sorts for a cult ritual?
No idea, I'm sure it will pop back up soon.

The young girl goes to get her bag of stuff for Rust. When they're walking to the car, he's reading her diary.

You clearly were not beating the right people with tool boxes or threatening to snap their wrists.

I'm confused about the way the little girls set up their dolls in their room. It was almost as if they saw their mother get gang banged or something.

Seemed like the freak in his underwear at the end of the trailer for the next episode had on some type of mask.
definitely some kind of ritualistic cult type shite, imo.
judging from context clues..this church cult has a group of children held captive in the forest and rust and marty find and free them.
In ep 1 at the very end, rust says something about the "hero shot" , and marty mentions "children in the woods" very early in episode 1

could have overheard Marty talking about the case. Also, I believe you can hear them whispering something about how Rust's daughter died.

Rust had a two year old that could ride a tricycle?
Posted on 1/20/14 at 11:27 pm to BushidoBrown

Good stuff all around.

Hell would it shock anyone if Rust had a few gaps in his memory?
Posted on 1/20/14 at 11:32 pm to JBeam
Could also be possible. He was hitting hitting some hard drugs from his Narco days

The events in the woods gets dropped a couple of times in ep 2. One time old blacky says they can talk about it later but wants to hear more about Cohl and his process.

Anyone on reddit discussing the picture that Rust stares at twice when they talk to Dori's mom?

From the King In Yellow play:
"Cassilda's Song" comes from Act 1, Scene 2 of the play:
Along the shore the cloud waves break,
The twin suns sink behind the lake,
The shadows lengthen In Carcosa.
Strange is the night where black stars rise,
And strange moons circle through the skies,
But stranger still is Lost Carcosa.
Songs that the Hyades shall sing,
Where flap the tatters of the King,
Must die unheard in Dim Carcosa.
Song of my soul, my voice is dead,
Die thou, unsung, as tears unshed
Shall dry and die in Lost Carcosa.[3]
Check that Carcosa reference as well as "Black Stars" against the girls diary. This is definitely a reference to
The King in Yellow which which you quoted.
Interestingly, The King in Yellow has been incorporated into H.P. Lovecraft's works.
Hastur is the King in Yellow and his worshipers are very chaotic, evil bastards who
ultimately go isane.
Good stuff.

Looked like a gang rape scene. Want to go back and listen to the girls dialogue before he calls them to dinner. I think they were talking about the way Rust's daughter died. not sure though.

Could even end up being Marty's kids and that's what causes their divorce

Sid here is DreadDub's post from yesterday. I rewatched last night with subtitles and this is correct.
quote:
Just re-watched the scene with the Dolls...
As Marty is walking down hallway you can hear the girls say the following -
Sister 1 - "You don't have a mommy or daddy anymore. Yours just died in an accident."
Sister 2 - "How?"
Sister 1 - "In a car accident..."
Marty walks in and sees how his work affects his family and that his daughters are simulating life/death games.
Very next scene is Rust talking about how sometimes he is grateful for the way his daughter died and was spared the sorrow of life (growing up.)
Very well done...
