My only trivial nitpick is rust calling it a hillbilly whore house instead of a redneck whore house.

There's no real flaws with the show so people need to bitch about something.

took those pictures from reddit. the bracelets resemble the bracelets that the underage whore was wearing at the whorehouse.

Maybe a symbol that has something to do with the church?

All of those people kept mentioning the Church so it seems likely that they could be part of some kind of cult. Woody's character keeps mentioning kids in the woods too.

I'm curious to see what the "yellow king" is all about.

I can see rust getting taken in by the church. He is damaged and searching for some greater meaning to life. Those are the people that get drawn into cults

Maybe that is what the interview backstory is, rust creates a conflict of interest during the investigation and his character comes into question with the 2012 murder

Some dude on Reddit did some serious work

"I close my eyes and see the king in yellow move through the forest."

'The King in Yellow' is a collection of short stories that was published in 1895. There are 10 stories, the first four of which, "The Repairer of Reputations", "The Mask", "In the Court of the Dragon" and "The Yellow Sign", mention The King in Yellow, a forbidden play which induces despair or madness in those who read it. This image is what pops up when you google image search the words 'The King in Yellow'

kind of resembles

Also, the flier is yellow. Could be coincidence but Rust does say in the first episode that every little detail counts so maybe not.

Yeah it kind of seemed to me like she was trying to lead them to it without really getting herself into the thick of it. It could all be coincidence though.

These are some really good theories.

And I want to know the significance of the green spaghetti face sketch from episode 1. A mask of some sorts for a cult ritual?
