I can’t figure out if they are just hinting at a lot of supernatural stuff or if it is actually going to wind up that these natives are a bunch of shapeshifters.

Same. I feel like every season has hinted at something unexplainable and then they just never answer it.

The guy from their last case together was whistling “Twist and Shout” before one of them shot him. Probably just another inexplicable clue

This season absolutely sucks. Not sure it can recover from that episode. This is a third rate Sci-fi channel show

The Dixie/Dukes of Hazard horn on the truck was a tad much.

I'll finish it, but this is just very meh It just cannot decide what it wants to be and is a very big mess. It needs more focus and fewer characters and a deeper plot, because from all the unresolved issues they don't really have a lot of time and I imagine there's going to be some rug pulling in a lot of it's going to be unsolved or unexplained. I started rewatching season 1 recently and the investigation is slow but you can see what they actually have to do being detectives trying to solve it and the reason it slows because they have to get evidence. This show is moving slow by creating artificial barriers and other random plot lines to distract the focus and create more screen time for content other than the investigation.

Yes, all of this

Coherence is something Issa could use in abundance

How many unexplained, unnatural occurrences do we have to witness that are not addressed when we’re already halfway through the show and have no direction?

I’ll likely watch the remaining episodes, but there’s no urgency. LOL

So we’re in agreement the forensics guy who keeps getting held up is Rust?

Not sure about anything, but a Rust appearance might be the only thing that could save it, and even then, probably not

The spiral symbol is perfect for this season. The show is circling the drain

Watched late last night... Had concerns they would go full on supernatural/paranormal and well, they did.

I'll prob watch the trainwreck to see how bad it gets, but S1 remains king and I'm disappointed they tied it into this season.

What a fricking waste.

I’m kind of pissed they’ve blown the S1 tie in on this BS.

It was not a good sign in Ep1 that the new writer was trying to shoe horn this into S1 and ride its coattails.

Let me just be clear, though, this season is meh because of the season, not the tie-ins that make it look worse (and certainly not for being "woke", which it really isn't).

I mean even S2 had much more detecting going on. Certainly S3 runs circles around this one.

This season seems to be too committed to creating new mysteries than unfolding the important ones.

The first few episodes of TDS1 were basically a straight procedural, everything unfolded out of their actual investigation.

This season is trying to be more like American Horror story than a police/investigation drama.

Agree… they could have this same plot and take out the paranormal angle

I agree. It as nothing to do with being “woke”. It’s just too much going on.

Ask the question.

Why is this season weak?

My answer…it can’t figure out what it wants to be. It’s trying to be a lot of things and sucks at all of them.

At first Navarro was getting on my nerves and I didn’t care for her much. But her and Danvers don’t really bother me much anymore except for the ridiculous and unexplained behavior she has with her stepdaughter, or whatever she is.
