this may be a dumb question, but what is the omega station
Posted on 8/10/15 at 12:35 pm to The Sad Banana
My guess is he was worried about them knowing where his kid went to school and would use that against him
He wanted to take care of things to protect his son
Eta: did the bad white cop hurt his arm in the train station? I saw the sling but couldn't remember why he was hurt

but they also had a grave for him...
Yea, then he said "I have a million dollars in the suitcase"...other Mexican guy sees it and they nod...everyone goes in directions back to their cars and no one is interested in Frank anymore. It wasn't until he asked for a ride back.
This is part of my problem with this show...no one has ANY IDEA of what would have really happened. You can act like they were definitely going to kill him, but I 100% disagree. They're low time gangsters (well maybe, we don't really know because the show did a TERRIBLE job of setting their storyline up) trying to make moves. Them getting a million dollars was a business decision. They may have thought he wouldn't be able to walk out of the desert so there was a strong possibility he would die, but they wouldn't just put a bullet in his brain. They definitely made a grave to kill him, and said go lay in it...but so what? Things change, the money changed that scenario. They tried to pull him off of the guy, and he wouldn't get up, so he got stabbed. I think even if they pull him off of the guy, the head Mexican would have told him hombre to calm down and they would STILL leave.
Everything until that point set Frank up as a guy who gets the last laugh...no matter what. He talked constantly about not going out a certain way, and he didn't live his life for nothing. Well, dying over a suit in the desert by a Mexican gangbanger while your wife waits for you in another country is EXACTLY dying for nothing.

omega station
I took it to refer to a "last stop" sort of thing. Omega being the last letter in the Greek alphabet and all.

I mean...pretty sure that is a good indication that they weren't about to give him a ride home

uh no...he got stabbed immediately

He still had his pride, which was obviously important to him.

Tony didn't tail Frank............where are you guys get this? That was the Mexican Kingpin.
It was already brought up in this thread by Salmon, but the Mexicans were apparently working for Tony. When he was being introduced as the new mayor, the 2 Mexicans leaders were standing next to him on the podium.
Now, could the Armenians have sold him out? Sure. Do we know? Nope. Could the Mexicans in the following year or so just become close and tight with Tony? Yea, but don't know. Either the Armenians sold Frank out to the Mexicans or Tony wanted the Mexicans to kill Frank because he crushed all the Russians...because the Russians were tight with Tony, Blake told us this.

I don't think the suit was as much of an issue as the $3.5 million worth of diamonds in it
Those should have been keistered

Here is another question, were the Mexicans working for tony the whole time? Or did they just take the place of the Russians after frank killed them all? I'm thinking the latter.

but I think him not giving up his suit fits his character 100%
for sure
A) Frank is prideful to his detriment
B) The diamonds were in there
quote:
He was willing to let the Russians come in his club and embarrass him all while he stayed calm sipping Vodka and devising a plan
what plan could he have come up with? He'd be completely out of money and diamonds and be left in the middle of the desert. At this point, he has to leave. There is no other option. He realized that wasn't going to be able to happen, and said frick it, you're not taking my suit (and pride) if I'm either going to A) get shot in the head or B) left to die in the desert.

What's your point? Ok, but not giving him a ride is not sure death

Uh no...he hit the guy, we then get a shot of all the Mexicans running towards them and grabbing them while they fall, then we get a shot of underneath Frank while he is hitting him or strangling him, then a guy stabs him. It's hardly immediately.

Because being humiliated in public by Russians was so prideful to Frank

This season really underwhelmed
- last season was overrated, but at least it pulled off the weird / interesting factor

Don't think so. I took it as they were pissed because frank burned down one of the clubs, and that's it. Remember, they were bought back in at this point.

That's part of my problem!! No one knows!!! Everybody who acts like they have definite answers are full of shite. No one knows because Pizz did not do a good job of establishing certain characters or what their roles were. The Mexicans literally just showed up at the most random times, and it turns out they have one of the biggest impact on the show.
I want to say it was after Episode 6 in one of these threads, there was speculation that the Mexicans would help Frank take down the Russians and half the city. That shows you how little anyone knew about the whole damn thing.

its not assured
all I know is that they brought him out to the desert and had a grave dug for him
I don't think they had his best interests in mind
quote:

I already explained this, but Frank had the upper hand then, he knew they were coming and had already things in place for his revenge
Frank had nothing in this case, he offered the money, but that didn't do anything, I guess he didn't think offering the diamonds would do anything either, all he had left was his pride
