Definitely the worst episode so far. And I was optimistic all week.

I think I see where this is going (for good or ill)
They will jump.in time again...hence CF with no mustache. The three cops will have to work with VV to do an off books resolution of the case..yet not everyone will be caught

About six cops were killed
At least a dozen civilians killed or wounded
And five gang bangers were killed
IRL The national media would be crushing this story now, with all three officers being pulled apart. So in effect their involvement in the case would be done.
Woodruh's connection to the actress, the chick being suspended, Ray's past etc would be all over CNN. So shows over, nothing more to see here
That is what I used to laugh at in SOA, any of those weekly public murders would have been national news.

If I would have known they let random jackasses from LC write HBO series I would have signed up a long time a go

It's pretty clear the focus of this season will not be a murder mystery. I did enjoy the last scene in the episode, but it was not enough to save it. Pretty disappointed so far.

I want to like this show (but I just can't), and I'll continue watching to see where it goes, but here's what sticks out the most IMO:
I'm not buying VV as a badass gangster dude. It's not his character, and it's not that I'm expecting comedy out of him. He's just not doing a very good job of acting. I usually love VV but his delivery of all these deep, philosophical lines (which is also the fault of the writers), is just not very good. In fairness, I don't think Marlon Brando could pull off most of them.
The cop chick character is awful. And so is her hippie dad. Looks like a comedy skit. When she went for the boot knife I actually lol'd for the first time.
There are way too many characters with deep stories whose surface has barely been scratched. No way they can possibly develop all of these storylines in a season.
The dialogue is over the top. Everybody loves great lines, but it's like every convo is supposed to be epic, so now none of them are.
The primary storyline is a cluster frick. I don't mind twists turns, and generally weird shite, but this one is just confusing and all over the map.
Can't wait for next week!

The actual story will be human sex trafficking is my guess
That is how the guru dad, the mayor, Rick Springfield etc will all tie together. The three main characters will see the truth and be shut down by the powerful figures behind Catalyst
Moral Corruption at the highest levels of power is a Pizzolato tenet

Am I the only one paying attention?
Correct. And, no, there is at least one other person paying attention. That said, there are a lot of problems with this show.
a.) Agree with the Lera Lynn thing EVERY episode being annoying. Once was good
b.) So, it looks like they are retreading one of last year's major developments, major shootout that the brass uses to say the case is closed and the main characters have to continue to pursue the real criminals after the dust settles
c.) So, now it looks like they are intentionally contaminating land so farmers have to sell cheap. I like intricate plots, but this isn't one. This one needs Ritalin. Way too much shite going on
d.) Someone else mentioned it, and I was thinking it tonight while I as watching, this show needs a good guy to balance the bad. It would be interesting if there is a third season to see an honestly good character drawn into a world of shite far darker than they could have imagined
I'll keep watching, but this season has whiffed. Hopefully it's just a sophomore slump.

Everyone just comes here to shite on it because it's the "cool" thing to do
Just read through this quickly and there at least 10+ people saying they have no idea what's going on?
What's not to get? They were set up. It's simple.

Hopefully someone will burn his stuff...btw, he had the right idea to get the Mexicans when they exited.

The thing that is wrong with this season is 6'5" and can't act.
