His career/film choices have been great since 2011...except Magic Mike, but he was hilarious in that movie even.

I think we can all agree that he's been amazing as Rust.

Her Dad could still be in play - maybe she's been covering for him this whole time.

I watch a lot of TV...too much TV to be honest. Rust is seriously one of the most complex/badass characters I have seen on TV in the last 20 years.

All the witnesses kept saying it was like he was burned. What were you expecting exactly?

I like how the last scene drives home how clueless Papania and the other detective are. Driving around aimlessly and can't find the church. They run across the real Yellow King cutting grass and they cut him off mid sentence and drive off.

the real Yellow King

still TBD.

All we know about Scars guy is that he is "one of the worst" of the cult.

Well in this show I would view Rust as complex and Marty as not normal..I think there pretty much the same and thats why these guys keep coming back to each other....just my opinion

You're right. I swear I read somewhere today that Nick had mentioned 3 characters "not Marty and Rust." But I can't find it.

Townes Van Zandt, guy who played the closing credits song tonight. Big fricking scar on his face. Coincidence?

Marty seems to have become a better cop with experience. Even though he isn't a cop anymore.

I don't see how they wrap up everything in a single one hour episode. This series deserves better than that.

Hate to spoil it for people, but Audrey isn't going to factor into the Yellow King/Carcosa business. Lawnmower Guy is the Yellow King and Carcosa is near his house.

Listening to that preview it sounds like mor ed of an English accent saying " I haven't left my mark in weeks...would that they had ears to hear"...wonder if this is an ancient recording of of an ancestor or what?

I'm very encouraged by what may happen here

The older black detective is suspiciously missing from next week's previews. Also, one of the voices sounds like it could be him. But too many things to answer next weeks.

Lots of red herrings that were placed throughout the series as symbolism, mood-setters, theme motifs, rather than actual foreshadowing/clues.

Snatchy

In the "Inside the Episode" video, Pizzalatto says the title of the ep is taken from an old famous torch song and that it "describes who the men became after each left their lives and how they are going to continue".

You were right when you posted the lyrics to that song earlier.

Other interesting notes-

NP - "They are going to attempt to get to the bottom of this" - maybe they don't end up solving the case at all?

-Said it was more important to see Marty's reaction to the video than the viewer seeing the video themselves.

-Marty can no longer deny that Cohle is correct.

-NP - "The episode ends with us finally getting a clear definitive look at our killer".
