I have no idea who the opponent is. I know they were wearing maroon [MSU?]. Dale Brown can be seen in one shot of the tv.

Did anyone catch which basketball game Marty was watching during the scene where they brought up his daughter's school drawing (from E3)? Pretty sure it's LSU but I can't tell who the opponent is...maybe Bama?
So unrealistic no way an USL man would watching LSU.

Marty was kinda orgasmic about meeting the former LSU pitcher. Very realistic, IMO. USL was always an LSU wannabe institution.

I'm wondering if they are trying to set a date by showing this. Maggie refers to something happening the week before that I'm unclear on. I know they've matched dates before...like Rust's interview being on a Thursday for example...April 26, 2012 was actually a Thursday.

I remember that abortion of a game against UK.

eh
lots of the flashbacks we SEE are not what is SAID (especially with Marty's affair and the shootout last week)

My direct tv info on tonight's episode says rust and Marty celebrate a solved case

I highly encourage everyone to go watch the very opening shot of episode 1 and watch it really slow and even pause it and study it. I really believe that is two men making their way through the brush and one is helping the other who is injured. the one helping may also have a gun or a stick in one hand. look at the shapes of both figures heads and its clear its two men. it almost looks like Marty and Rust's shapes but you can't be sure. Its definitely NOT a man carrying a dead body through the field.
I think they show you that and then cut to the person lighting the field on fire to create an illusion that its the same scene but I don't think it is.
HMMM.
I'm also betting the very final scene of episode 8 will that opening shot again.

I thought they were the same person though?

Which part? I thought Marty was being pretty open about his affairs with the two detectives.

Looked like it to me. A man carrying stuff in a big sack. I considered the two person angle but I just don't see it.

it didn't sound like it, esp with the time he beat the guy up at blue eyes's apartment, etc
and the shite last week? c'mon

we'll find out in three weeks

He was very open with the detectives about how he felt about affairs but I'm sure he didn't mention that part to him

Well no shite he's not going to mention that
What I agreed with (what you quoted from me) was that things are not what they seem to be, certainly not some of the things that Marty and Rust tell the detectives (or omit from telling them). I'm not sure we disagree on this.

Will be interesting to see how Rust and Marty explain how they happened upon Ledoux, especially since Rust was supposed to be in Alaska at the time.
