Could be I guess. Maybe he mows the yard to stay close to his shrines or something.

Also remember how he said that his work duty was to mow the lawn for the state. But why would he be mowing the lawn if it was Tuttle's school? Someone correct me if I'm wrong about any of this, I haven't rewatched the scene

this. the only reason he agreed to the interegation was to see what they had. from episode one hes wanted the details of the case and when he finally gets them itss laughable and he walks out

There needs to be a subreddit with every single thing in this show pinned on googlemaps. I want to do a true detective tour this spring.

I think ill skip the beaumont ghetto though.

I was unaware of that last part and hadn't realized that.

Yeah, I posted this earlier, and was in the dark about that as well. Smart as hell.

Awesome line.

Just rewqatched that scene, and the giy's face is not really all that scarred looking with his beard. He says he is mowing for the Parish. Seems the school grounds fell into gov't hands after the Hurricane ruined it.

I'll say it again. It is part of his plan. He went off the grid, did his own investigation, coming back now for his end game. He was found by the authorities because he wanted to be found.

i like it

I have theory but it is just not possible to know if it is remotely credible until we watch next week's episode. Cohle's story is truly his own creation. His file is sealed. He said he was deep under cover and that it was his choice to come to La. What if he is still connected to who ever his former employer was, FBI or whoever. What if he stayed undercover by staying on the job and now off the grid but all the while he was on his true job, which is to under the powerful cult responsible for these murders? He is either a vigilante or deep undercover.

Secondly him drink and spouting off all his weird ideas sure would be a good defense. He is setting up the insanity defense to a T.

I am thankful for the ideas about the grandfather but it is to soon to tell. The daughter is definitely involved.

We need more info and next week will deliver. No way in hell this show doesn't keep delivering.

That makes sense. I still think he is involved somehow, but I have no idea at all how this will play out

Just got done with tonight's episode.

Rust is definitely still on the case and has been playing the hell out of those two detectives. I'm thinking Marty either has been involved or will be involved again soon.

I have't seen it mentioned but it looks like Maggie will be interrogated next week. I'm really interested in seeing what she has to say, and if she helps them cover anything up as well.

Their whore/goth daughter is probably dead or whereabouts unknown. Girls was all fricked up because daddy worked too much and grandpa was in devil worshiping, child molesting cult and she probably go brought to a meeting or two.

This show is awesome. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time Rust was in that school

all the made in error reports were with date of births between 78 - 83 and weights from 51 lbs to around 100lbs. definitely all missing kids

i think the grandpa shite needs to be put to rest. theres no way he was bringing his granddaughter to shite like that and getting away with it. granted the kid is fricked up but the other one turns out normal and they seem to be pretty close growing up.

I honestly regret not discovering this show until later, and watching them on demand.

Then who involved her in the cult? Marty or Maggie? It seems pretty clear that she's somehow involved.
