Who can tell me why Marty always looks like he's sucking something out of his teeth???? The real question.

Where are yall getting this from, i understand yall said the paintings match, but Marty never mentions anything about his daughter being in that Ward at all. I think that would be cheap of the writers to intentionally hide that from us
I have no proof of this but put it together from the fact that Audrey is clearly screwed up on a major level based on previous episodes. The picture on Maggie's wall matches the psych ward mural. Since the girl that was rescued by Rust had been an obvious victim to the cult ritual, she could have exposed Audrey to that knowledge without Audrey having been abused by the said cult.
But they rescued the girl from Ledoux well after Audrey made the drawings/did the dolls. The dolls/drawings were seen/discussed not long after Rust and Marty picked up the case. They rescued the girl from Ledoux weeks or months afterwards.

This

Yeah, Rust is so smart he didn't see the guy's scars or go back to locate him to question if he's seen anybody back at the school with stick scupltures.

Actually if you re-watch that part Rust walks up to Errol's left side and Errol never turns his face fully towards Rust. It's not until Marty honks the horn and they both look towards the car, that the scare is briefly revealed.

Rust will know him when he see's him.

I get the feeling that Errol gonna hurt Rust some before it is all said and done. Rust is walking into a death trap.

I am flying blind on 8. I want to experience it unspoiled. I have only picked up that the ending is out, which sucks. Too bad.

There are some pictures in one of the threads. It's the painting on the wall in the psych ward and a painting on Marty's house. Its the same painting.

The one at his house is painted by his daughter, who is now an artist. As we saw in E7 she also had painted the piece with the black stars.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that this is going to be one of the loose ends the author referred to a few weeks ago. It has served though, at the least, as a fabulous distraction. I feel like giving the audience 8 weeks to figure out what is going to happen has made it impossible to keep anything a secret, so at the least they threw in a few road bumps to keep our minds spinning. Spinning round and round, flat circle n shite.

There are several things to lookout for.

The bar owner/buddy of Rust is ex-SOF IMO. He is going to be reaching out and touching some arse in the end. The way he just stared at Marty tells me he is a serious badass.

Officers S & F gonna get in the way or get someone killed. It would be ironic if they saved Rust in the end.

Anyone named Childress, shoot first ask questions later.

Maggie is going to, in some way, impact on the outcome. Forget about her dad already.

Lawnmower man is the Spaghetti Monster.

The Yellow King is becoming a myth. Myths are hard to kill.

From a recent article:

quote:

The writer also stated that the first episode basically tells viewers 85 percent of the story. Viewers predicting that either Cohle or Hart are the killer should re-think it, according to Pizzolatto.

Not trying to outsmart you

Another article saying NP is not trying to outsmart the audience:
quote:

It makes sense that the former detectives wouldn’t be the killers. Which leads us to believe that the Tuttle family is definitely responsible for the murders of Louisiana women and children. The family is big, powerful, and know Louisiana like the back of their hand—or so Errol, the “spaghetti monster,” admitted in episode 7. But which one of them is the Yellow King? Perhaps the Yellow King isn’t even a person but a deity and the Tuttle family makes up the five horsemen. There’s a lot to consider regarding who is the killer but if Pizzolatto is claiming we won’t be surprised, then this is exactly what we think is going to happen.
