I agree. I dislike that movie strongly.

My response to the whole movie, even knowing the ending ahead of time, is "WTF was that?!?"

I prefer my movies to have at least some form of narrative, not just be an exploration of how big of a bastard some guy can be, even if it's Daniel Day-Lewis eating the scenery in the process.

My answer, from an action-thriller movie perspective, is The Siege.

Decent movie for about the first 2/3 to 3/4, dealing with terrorist attacks and the law enforcement's response to them.

SPOILER-

The last part of the movie is a combination of "We created the terrorists through bad foreign policy" and "The US military is EVIL~!", complete with a scene rehashed from Crimson Tide between Denzel Washington and Bruce Willis.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that felt this way about There Will Be Blood. When it was over I sat there and thought, OK, um, what was the point?

LOTR ROTK. Hated the last 15 minutes, I felt like it would never stop. Hate away.

Meh. I don't know anyone who appreciated the dragged out endings but considering the rest of the trilogy was so well done I forgive the last 15 mins.

I thought Waterworld had an interesting premise and was good for the first 20mins or so before it went full tard.

I agree with this. It had Jeepers Creepers Syndrome.

And you are not a long time lurker. I lurked for 2 years before I ever even got an account. Then I probably had 100 posts as of 2008.

You could just say every Stephen King movie that isn't Shawshank, Stand By Me or the Green Mile.

Seriously? I've always felt that the strongest part of the movie was from Lufthansa to the end.

As much as I love this movie, I kind if agree. I attribute this to having 6 lead writers

Totally agree on From Dusk till Dawn and Sunshine, disagree with The Departed and Buried, thought they were great all the way through

Its always easy to tell if someone has read the books or not by how they feel about the final 30 minutes.

I don't see how you can like this ending and not like Hot Fuzz. Both these films go completely off the rails in the most glorious fashion.

This. Lots of tension in the first 2/3 of the movie, up until when the aliens attack the farmhouse. The ending sucked.

i agree with this. the first half was an awesome futuristic world with people doing drugs through their eyes and shite then all of a sudden the last half of the movie is spent on a fricking farm...boring

i dont get the From Dusk till Dawn hate..im pretty sure it was written like that on purpose to make you think it was going to be an ordinary action thriller then BAM vampires. i thought it was awesome and very original

I do like Hot Fuzz. But Hot Fuzz was like a real movie when it went off the rails. Blazing Saddles never made such a pretense.

Kind of funny, Shaun of the Dead is the opposite. It started off really lighthearted and funny and turned into a serious zombie gore film before it got goofy again.

It ends right after they blow up the canvas city, right?

That's when I always stop watching, anyway.
