Finally, a list that includes movies made before 1995. I'm only 30, and I'm ashamed at some of you.

First off, any list of greatest war movies that doesn't include Patton is bullshite.

My list, in no particular order :
- Patton
- The Longest Day
- Saving Private Ryan
- Apocalypse Now
- Blackhawk Down
Hon Mention.
- To Hell and Back
- Midway
- The Dirty Dozen
- 300
- Gladiator

Edit: I'd love to put the Great Escape here, but I dont really consider it to be a war movie. Guns of Navarrone is wonderful. Kudos to the guy that said Twelve o'clock High.

Not a war movie. Actually more political than anything. But, the rest of your list is awesome.

My favorite war movie is "We were soldiers". You can't beat Mel in those movies. The Patriot was another great war movie.
I was going to say "get ready", but I think you've already gotten it.
