Lots of references to the original, but this is the first trailer which is probably not revealing much. Most of those shots will probably all be squeezed into the first 20 minutes or so. Then it'll get down to business.

I had no expectations for this movie but goddamn that trailer got me hyped. Definitely watching in theaters just for the jet porn at minimum

Reading about the plot of this movie, if you notice the piano bar scene, apparently that is Goose's fully grown son who is now a Navy pilot himself (played by Miles Teller. Nice way to tie that into the movie. I used to know every single dam line to this movie when i was a kid.

I’m interested in this as well. They’ve been big on sticking to practical effects like the first one so unless they dug up a X-plane they’d have to go CG.
F35s have a very unique helmet system but you don’t wear a pressure suit.

Top Gun is probably the movie that I have watched the most in my lifetime, simply because I watched so many times as a kid
I don't go to many movies anymore, and I certainly don't go on opening night anymore, but I'll be in a theater on opening night for this
I'll probably bust out my douchey aviators that I haven't worn in 15 years as well, just because
also I watched this trailer with my wife and when it was finished I immediately turned to her with a huge grin seeking her approval only to be met with "that looked terrible, I don't get it" and I've never been more disappointed in my life choices at that moment

the situation was reversed at my house. I texted my husband about it yesterday then when I got home told him about it again and he's like fine, let's see it. After, he was like, "ok. I guess I'll go see it" and I was like "I'm going with or without you"
