Regardless, he's hardly one of the worst Directors/Writers of all-time just for Unbreakable and The Sixth Sense alone.

I count Split as one of his best as well.

Baz Luhrmann.

I must have shite taste. My favorite movie of all time is Moulin Rouge.

I also love R+J and Gatsby.

Say what you want about BvS and MoS but the action sequences (you know, the parts that require actual directing) we're the equal to, or superior to, anything in the MCU up til Infinity War.

Methinks you need to rephrase this.

I'm not saying he's John Ford or Alfred Hitchcock, but to claim he's one of the worst ever is just typical M/TV board hive mind.

While probably true, the ability to take the beloved and nearly invincible cultural icons of Batman and Superman and make them less relevant than they where before is a feat few have achieved.

I'd say we need at least a few requirements.

Directed at least 5 films, 2 of which in wide release.
Anything else?

quote:

1. George Lucas (Everything ever)

2. Zack Snyder (Obsessed with proving Supes is Jesus)

3. Roland Emmerich (Makes the most boring action movies ever)

4. Micheal Bay (Killed transformers)

5. Rian Johnson (TLJ)

6. Gareth Edwards (Godzilla 2014 is one of the worst movies ever concieved)

7. M. Night Shamashit (After earth is a torture film)

I'd disagree with nearly all of these, except for maybe Emmerich. Snyder is getting there, but he has the ability to recover a bit if he gets away from directing stuff he actively hates.

I'd add Greengrass as well, I don't know why people give him work. I want to say Haggis, but I do like some of his writing, it's just that most of his directorial efforts are terrible. I'd put Ratner on my list. David Goyer hasn't directed enough films, but he's there as well.

Dennis Dugan makes the list, but I almost want throw him out because he only gets work due to Sandler. Brian Levant and Tyler Perry probably round out my list. Uwe Boll is too easy of an answer.

The mere fact you admit he's good at "moments" keeps him off the list.

I would agree if these were completely random movies with characters no one cares about.

But that's not these here as he was handed the keys to the two most famous and well known superheroes in history and he completely shite the bed and bombed whatever was left of it.

He set Superman and Batman back a long time.

Just for example, Man of Steel 2 is development hell right now and it will be years before it can get out of there, if it ever comes out at all. He completely wasted a fantastic Superman in Henry Cavill and that's just unforgivable.

Which is why Snyder's name deserves nothing but scorn and loathing for it.

DC giving the keys to their cinematic universe to a hack like Snyder is one of the biggest miscalculations in Hollywood history and they've been paying for it by leaving hundreds of millions of dollars on the table at the box office.

Before this thread, I had no idea someone actually tried to make Postal into a movie.
