Love that movie.

Watched it all the time.

I’m 24 and still have the VHS. Used to watch it over and over in the car as a kid

If you ever end up in SW Colorado, it's absolutely worth it to go to some of the locations. They shot some in Ridgway. The spot where Rooster gets in the big gunfight on horseback at the end is beautiful. It's a long drive up there, but it was so awesome when I went. Several other spots are not far from there as well.

ETA: That big rock Mattie sleeps under is still there.

Someone earlier (probably tongue in cheek) listed Blazing Saddles. But, honestly, it just might belong. While Brooks hilariously deconstructed the classic Western, you can also tell he loves the genre. It doesn't hurt that he weaves biting social commentary into the yuks.

And if "I stop and watch when it's on" is your criteria, Blazing Saddles is as strong an entry as any listed.

Big Country
Lonesome Dove
Unforgiven

I would be content if I was stranded on an island forever and can only take 3 westerns.

I love both True Grits.

John Wayne can make the most simplest story/ character iconic; stagecoach is probably my favorite western of his.

If lonesome dove is allowed, then Deadwood goes on the list.
