But I would add Homeward Bound to the list.

I've had an irrational hatred of porcupines because of this movie

Yeah got to put Hocus Pocus on the list. It is the iconic Halloween movie of the 90s. Take The Mask off

He legitimately has a claim for the best child actor of all time not just the 90s. He single handily made what should have been a toy that sold about ten units (the talkboy) the biggest toy of the year

Don’t forget about “The Good Son”. Frodo was also in it

I've gotta highly disagree with these. I was born in 85 so this topic is right in my wheelhouse, and there have been many other movies listed by others ITT that should absolutely replace these.

sandlot, billy madison, happy gilmore, space jam, sandlot, dumb and dumber, little big league, rookie of the year, hocus pocus, etc are all ones that would come to mind sooner than frickign matilda.

In other words, if you sampled 1000 people my age "hey what are the most iconic or memorable movies you remember from the 90s" I think it'd take a long while to list matilda or mrs doubtfire. Jurassic Park would be up there but not #1.

Great 90s movies, but no 90s kid was watching reality bites when it came out. That was for people born in the 70s.

I've seen all of these but Matilda(?). Wtf Ninja turtles would be #1 for me but I think it should at least make 7-10 for every kid that grew up in the 90s.

I don't know, Mrs Doubtfire was pretty big

As for Mara Wilson, I know her from that but not from Matilda. I'm not really understanding the Matilda thing.

Couple others I didn't see (not that I necessarily like but were pretty big):

Sister Act
Rookie of the Year

ETA:

Selena belongs on this list because every kid of the 90s who took spanish has seen it like 4 times

Matilda seems like more of a girl thing. I and my guy friends never gave a shite about it. My wife and her girl friends reference it all the time
