Seriously, watch that phone call again.

Clear your mind of our disagreements and watch open minded.

Francesca clearly has feelings for Kim. Her emotions don't make sense with a 4 year gap.

You seem to think that them having some contact after she left can only mean that she is part of the show that goes down in BB. It's comical.

They were legally married. If anything they had contact over ending that, let alone the fact they liked each other. Just couldn't be together. Them occasionally talking wouldn't be unusual.

That doesn't mean she was part of his downfall.

As has been pointed out a number of times, he became full on Saul AFTER she left.

And her and Francesca always seemed friendly. She worked for them when they had the office together. Her saying Kim Wexler called would be totally out of character as they were friends and of course, Jimmy and Kimmy were married.

"Remember your ex wife?" Dumb.

btw-She mentioned Kim after the others like Huell. Almost an afterthought. If she was around during BB she wouldn't be an afterthought.

If you can't feel Kim's not done I don't know what to tell you.

There's more to her story and I don't think it's meeting up with Gene for a happy ending.

Last week we got a rundown from Gene on how shitty his life is.

This week we see he apparently can't be in contact with Kim. With his shitty life that slender thread of a possibility perhaps kept him going in his mundane, grey life. That's gone.

The Bluetooth is back. The swing machine is back. Hookers are back. They beat us over the head with the BB flashbacks featuring the same things.

Saul is back and Saul is going to crash again.

Thing is, this Saul is in greyscale and has little to live for so does something stupid. Like leaving evidence of a break in.

eta-It's obvious they stayed in contact before he got vacuumed as "Gene" knows where she works. She works in Florida, not Albuquerque. She wasn't a partner in Saul's criminal enterprise from 2000 miles away.

Spill it then shitbird.

eta-Your assumption that many here think they will have a happy ending is not supported by any posts I have seen.

Francesca phone call where she mentions Kim.

So everyone else died or escaped right?

Is Saul/Jimmy/Gene gonna be the one to go to jail & that’s how it ends?

Bringing back the ADA as a defense attorney makes me think so.

The poster I quoted is right. There is something very fishy with Kim, there's just too many odds and end connections. Francesca should not have said Kim so casually if they hadn't seen her in 4 years. Something is up with Kim.

Ham,

Just do me this favor. Don’t be that guy who puts so much effort in his theory, that when it’s wrong claims the show had a shitty ending.

If you’re right, then you can give us a huge I told you so

I think Bill Oakley has to play a further part in this. The placement was too prominent. He’s not Saul Goodman but it’s Bill’s picture now on the billboards and bus benches.

Also, the American Greed episode ran earlier, probably right after Saul (and Walter) disappeared, since Bill Oakley was still assistant DA when he was interviewed.

Let's say Kim and Jimmy haven't associated for 3-4 years.

Is it normal for her to refuse his call? Is it normal for him to be so passed about it?

I have an ex that I haven't spoken to in 7 years, if she called tonight wanting to talk id refuse her call without hesitation. Because of who she is and how she was.

I saw that her dad died of cancer last year, and that still doesn't change the fact.

My life is better without her in it. Kim probably feels the same way about Jimmy. Especially after everything that happened since Howard died in front of her.

Francesca was Kim’s personal assistant in season 3 for a decent amount of time and they clearly bonded during that time.

Given their relationship + Jimmy being married to her, it’s entirely conceivable, even likely, that Francesca would not use her last name.

Was Saul arguing with Kim or with the person who answered the phone because they wouldn’t let him speak to her?

Schrödinger's cat! Both are true until they open the box in the next episode or two. And frankly this clever bit of storytelling was necessary to keep the interest and speculation up until next week. The Walt / Jesse / Mike scenes didn't provide any clue to what we're going to learn from the BB timeline that affects Gene's present circumstances. The only other interesting thing to speculate about is why Gene is so intent on finishing the job with cancer dude. Oh, and what role Carol Burnett plays in this.

I'll admit I was one of the few(?) really hoping for a reunion and happy ending, but it really doesn't look like it's going that way. It looks like Jimmy/Saul can't escape his fate. But it ain't over til it's over!

J+K=S You guys believe Francesca hasn't seen her in about 4 years. She said Kim called. She didn't say remember Kim Wexler? You guys are being suckered by good writing. I'm assuming his anger in the phone booth is because Kim refused his call. That's a fresh anger, not a 3-4 year situation. They've been running game together. More BB scenes to come.

I am afraid that what Mike said to Saul was foreshadowing Genes fate. Go to jail, don't rat, serve your time

To me, the big foreshadowing was the dissolve cut of Saul in the shallow grave to Saul in bed.

This show is huge on foreshadowing. Don’t be surprised if they kill off Saul.

What if Kim is the one to kill Saul?

The complete opposite of J+K=S as she’s been living her life after leaving Saul in Albuquerque before the shite hit the fan and managed to stay under the feds radar.

As Francesca is driving down the streets in the beginning of the episode, she’s driving in a much different Albuquerque.

Walter White — dead.
Jesse Pinkman—vacuumed to Alaska.
Hank Schrader— dead
Steve Gomez — dead
Gus Fring — dead
Howard Hamlin — dead
Chuck McGill — dead
Mike Ehrmantraut— dead
Saul Goodman — vacuumed to Omaha
Kim Wexler — living and working in Florida far from Albuquerque and the legal profession.
The twins — both dead.
Hector and Lalo Salamanca, Don Bolsa, Don Eladio and all the major cartel figures — dead.

And on and on. Give Francesca credit. By November 2010, she is a survivor.

And the point that Ham Solo missed—no, he didn’t miss it, he just can’t acknowledge it—is after seven years of not speaking:

If you picked up the phone and your ex was on the other end, she’d say, “Hi Clint, it’s Jane” and anyone with half a lick of sense knows you’d immediately know to whom you were talking.

According to the idiot troll, she’d have to say after seven years of no contact, “Hello Clint? This is Jane. You know … Jane Jones? Your ex wife? Yes, remember? I liked it doggie but refused to take it in the arse? … YES! I knew you’d remember!”

First, Jesse looked old and acted old. His voice old. Like really old in that scene. I get that he is 42 now, but man, it was just so apparent BB has been gone for so long.

Also, I'm pretty sure that gas station Franchesca was at is the same one Jesse stopped in with the RV to trade Meth for Fuel.

Agree about Jesse. He was supposed to be what, about 19 or 20 in the original scene? It looked like it was a strain for him to do the “yo” business at 42. That’s the hazard of doing a prequel years after the original show was completed. You have actors 20 years older.

I thought Bryan Cranston looked good. He portrayed Walter just like he did in the original scene. Of course Walter looked older in the original because he was sick so I guess that helped.
