Im not saying you’re 100% wrong that kim isnt in the background working with jimmy, but that seems like a cheap divergence of plot
It's not though. We didn't need to know what Kim was doing in BB. It's no divergence at all.

It seems more and more plausible but it just doesnt fit into the story we’ve seen in BB and BCS..
If she’s such a heavy hitter Law weapon as we’ve seen in BCS with mesa verde and the like, why would she be relegated to background money laundering in BB. In BB a simple accountant like skyler handled the money laundering for Walt.
I don’t think she necessarily had to be in the background simply because she wasn’t a featured storyline in BB. We are told little to nothing about who Saul Goodman is in BB which is why this show is so fascinating. Who’s to say Kim wasn’t still a big part of Saul and still a big defense lawyer in the BB timeline? Saul was mostly comedic relief in BB. His romantic and personal relationship were of no importance to the BB storyline. I just don’t think the idea that Kim dies or leaves Saul holds any more water right now than she stays with him. She clearly loyal AF to Saul and to her own detriment

Idk. Why does he womanize his secretary if kim is still a big part of his life? I get this isnt 100% but this is the general type of trait he displays. It’s his character development. Kim is super defensive of jimmy, we saw it with Lalo, but she’s nowhere to defend Saul from Gus or Walt? It’s the type of trait she would display. She’s not background is exactly my point. She’s the heavy hitter big time in your face type.
One of Hams big points is ISZA is used on a check for laundering, thats supposedly a major link to Kim. Kim is so good and such an integral part of Saul’s team, that Skyler just handles the laundering instead of going with ISZA?
Plus thats ignoring assloads of negative plot foreshadowing for kim. Literally ignoring someone driving to walk home alone at night, car wreck, bad choice road type foreshadowing.

This is what I’m saying. Saul is on a crash course to being just a douchebag managing a Cinnabon. Hitching yourself to that wagon cant end well.
ETA - some of Ham’s theory is that hes meeting. Up with kim in Omaha. Why would the disappearer put 2 people in the same place, especially in the wake and heat that Walt brought? He’s way more careful.

Ignoring her mom was foreshadowing the end of that episode when she chose to do what she thought was right.
The car wreck wasn't foreshadowing. It was a major plot point that changed the direction of the show.

First, them meeting in Omaha isn't part of my theory, but I have mentioned I think there is a good chance they are close enough to each other to meet up.
The disappearer gives you a choices if you aren't too hot, but when he told Saul Omaha Saul asked what's in Omaha?
Saul is obviously no where near as hot as Walt because he's allowed to have a job in public. Walt was told not to go past the gate.
If he's allowed to have a job, why did the disappearer not ask a location preference.
None of this proves a thing, but it's something to consider.

my main gripe is them being close after disappearing. But we agree There’s little chance they are close enough to meet in BB if you think they’re close enough to meet after disappearing to omaha.

So It’ was disappearer’s pick and he didnt ask Saul for a preference... also hes much more careful than sending multiple people the same place. If kim doesnt get disappeared, killed, or break ties with Jimmy then she is still nearby in ABQ during BB. If she’s nearby in BB she isnt close enough to meet Saul in Omaha. Why wouldn’t Saul tried to preference being near kim or known she was in Omaha, if they still had a good relationship?

Ams and I have argued before. This isn't an argument. This is a perfectly civil discussion debating both sides. Nothing wrong with that.

That was my point. If Saul's "cool" enough to have a public job, why didn't the disappearer ask a location preference?
Maybe the disappearer knew his preference was within driving distance of Kim. Where is Kim from? Why won't Gene leave when his cover is blown.
These questions go well beyond J+K=S, but they're questions worth asking.

I took it as she is used to abusive behavior from loved ones and that made her independent early on. She probably got home and put a blanket on her passed out mother.

Probably some truth in what you're saying. I took it as she knew she was right and too stubborn to back down. She then proceeds to begin trying to help Acker.

Near the end of BB when shite is hitting the fan doesn't Saul say "when this is all over I'll be lucky to be managing a cinnabon in Omaha"? Either him and vacuum had made previous arrangements in the past for when it was sauls time, or vacuum asked Saul where he wanted to go. Not sure what that means in the grand scheme of things just wanted to think out loud

I distinctly remember her going off on Hamlin either last season or the one before and realizing how good she is with that character. Tonight she may have bested herself
Another one of her great moments was when she told the bank president to stop being a dip shite and to start taking her advice (I'm very much paraphrasing). Think that was in S5 ep. 7 or 8.
